are you fuckin kidding me? Title: Re: Dallas Dolphins/Miami Cowboys Post by: miamid45 on September 20, 2011, 08:08:47 pm The phone call went something like this:
Tony, it's Bill. I haven't been able to reach Jeff, but let him know Igor's willing to move to Miami. Geez, thanks Tuna....Columbo is working out so well, we might as well keep hiring Jerry's rejects. No problem Tony...and remember this weekend, if you're in a 4th and 1 situation...call a timeout and then punt. Will do Tuna, will do. (fist pump in the air) Title: Re: Dallas Dolphins/Miami Cowboys Post by: MikeO on September 20, 2011, 08:15:35 pm it will never end!

Title: Re: Dallas Dolphins/Miami Cowboys Post by: Brian Fein on September 20, 2011, 11:12:02 pm Guys this is simple common sense (I know that is something some people aren't strong in, so let me spell it out clearly).
The guys that run the team here used to run the Cowboys. It makes sense that, if they liked these guys 5 years ago, when they were employed by a different team, they might STILL like the guy. Its not like they are scouring the Cowboys transaction report. These are names they recruited once before FOR A REASON. (For the reading impaired - the reason is because the guys doing the talent scouting think these players will help their team, regardless of what team they work for) I'm sick of people saying dumb crap like this, just for the sake of griping about stuff. Title: Re: Dallas Dolphins/Miami Cowboys Post by: Spider-Dan on September 20, 2011, 11:21:01 pm Glad to see Miami got Nate Jones back. He made some plays in 2009 and I was sad to see him leave last year.

I get what you're saying...but the Cowboys haven't been good for a while, so what makes them think that they could all resurrect their careers in Miami? I'm sure that's not too far from the truth. Title: Re: Dallas Dolphins/Miami Cowboys Post by: jtex316 on September 21, 2011, 08:25:07 am In the defense of the Dolphins (Brian please read that sentence five times out loud), teams often have developed relationships with other teams and often do more trades and roster moves with the players of those teams. The Giants seem to have good relationships with the 49ers, Broncos, and Carolina Panthers, and frequently there are ex-Giants playing on those teams and vice-versa.
Then, take a stubborn cock like the Cincinnati Bengals owner who absolutely refuses to trade Carson Palmer to completely desperate teams willing to give up their entire draft for him in order to prove his point while his team continues to suck. Can the Dolphins staff realistically approach a jackass like that? Title: Re: Dallas Dolphins/Miami Cowboys Post by: Diehard_Dolfan on September 21, 2011, 09:31:07 am I don't have a problem with bringing in ex Dallas players or any teams ex players...if they can help us! But, don't bring in players that these teams don't want and obviously others teams aren't interested in either!
I heard somewhere (on tv) that the Jags shop at Walmart for their players... seems we're shopping at Sanford and Son or local flea markets for ours... :'( Title: Re: Dallas Dolphins/Miami Cowboys Post by: Doc-phin on September 21, 2011, 10:34:41 am I thought Jones was the best nickel corner we have had since the whole Parcells crew got started, so I am fairly pleased.
I really don't understand why he keeps losing his roster spot. I have only seen good things from him and he also plays well on special teams. Maybe they don't like it that he isn't good as an outside corner, but now days you really need a guy who can hang with a slot receiver. Anyway, I don't care where we get our players from as long as they perform and don't take forever to develop. I am sure they go after these guys because they think they can get them to perform sooner than guys they don't know. Title: Re: Dallas Dolphins/Miami Cowboys Post by: Dolphster on September 21, 2011, 02:09:43 pm Being stuck in Dallas and having to watch the Cowboys all the time and read and hear all about their players, I can tell you that this latest move will help the Dolphins about as much as the Bobby Carpenter pickup did last year.

After looking at the ESPN article,it seems to leave out something......That the Sun-sentinal seems to address http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_football_dolphins/2011/09/miami-dolphins-add-two-more-former-cowboys.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sports%2FMiamiDolphinsweblog+%28Miami+Dolphins+|+Sun-Sentinel+Blogs%29 (http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_football_dolphins/2011/09/miami-dolphins-add-two-more-former-cowboys.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sports%2FMiamiDolphinsweblog+%28Miami+Dolphins+|+Sun-Sentinel+Blogs%29) Quote Defensive end Tony McDaniel is sidelined with a broken right hand, which was surgically repaired last week. That's a big omission. And apparently a needed signing. |
