Title: Henne Officially out for the season

Henne has played his last snap as a member of the Miami Dolphins.  Apparently Miami QB's can't make it out of San Diego without a season ending shoulder injury

I just hope the Fins don't give up a quality draft pick to get some guy wthat will lose the games anyway.

Henne's chances of being anything more than a backup in this league just got substantially less likely.  Job security isn't the best for backups.  This could be the start of the end of his career.  For that, I have sympathy.

Tough break for Henne.

I don't really get the sense he was going to become the kind of QB we needed, so perhaps (likely) this just accelerates what was going to happen anyway.  But the new offense seemed to at least give Henne a chance to show his abilities and I wish we hadn't wasted so much time with Dan Henning.  But you can't change the past so we will be left with the unknown of what he could have become.

For all of the frustration the fans and media directed toward him and the crappy offensive system he was forced into, he never complained.  He deserves credit for that, at least.

I agree 100%. With all of the wildcat crap he had to put up with, not once did I read anywhere of him complaining. I feel bad for him and wish he had a team that could do something on both sides of the ball.

Tough break indeed.  He finally started to show flashes of brilliance and take a leadership role on the team, and now this.

Hope you make a speedy recovery, Chad.  Not all of us hate you.

Flashes of brilliance?  When?  I don't want to totally hijack the thread, but brilliance?  Really?  Are you talking about training camp?

Without one iota of "snark," I would say there were many words to describe Henne's performance.  Brilliance, in flashes or not, was never one of them.

brilliance? WHEN? What game did I miss? We lost every game we played and he only led 1 TD drive vs the Browns and 1 TD drive vs the Texans. And before he got hurt in SD he threw a god awful looking INT. Where is the brilliance??

I think it was a very wise decision by Chad and his new wife to get this operation, heel up 100% before he hits the Free Agent Market in March and he can find a nice spot in the NFL backing up Stafford, Bradford, McCoy, Dalton, or whoever. He can have a long career in the NFL as a solid back-up and make a nice living off of that and set himself and his family up forever. Find a spot where he won't be asked to do much and he is golden.

Just pay Garrard the money that he wants.

I wouldn't be surprised to him re-sign here next year. They won't start Luck or anyone else as a rookie and Chad is solid enough to keep if our new QB becomes ready to play.

I would guess that Luck would play season one.  I could agree with you more if you stated that he wouldn't play in the first few games, but I think it is more likely he would start right away.

He is a smart player and has a good bit of collegate experience.  If he had only played for a season or was more of a project type guy, I could see him sitting for a while.

Henne would likely only be resigned with Ireland in control and even Ireland may choose to move on.  Henne just hasn't really done anything other than be a good soldier and show effort in improving.  His lack of point production is really going to hurt his chances.

Why in the world wouldn't you start Luck in his first season?

Split Moore and Sage the rest of the season

1) Henne won't want to come back. Why be a punching bag for an entire city when you can go elsewhere and start fresh

2) No new coach will want leftovers who failed miserable to stay around. It's house cleaning time baby. Out with the trash

There is no chance Henne is back next year

P.S....LUCK STARTS!!!!! To think otherwise is totally foolish!

As predicted, Dolphins sources tell Armando and the Herald Henne won't be back in Miami next year and won't get a contract offer at all from them

If that's true that's sad. Not because of Henne but that would mean this regime is still in place. Otherwise  Armondo has no idea what will happen let alone who will be doing the happening.

Agreed. I would hope he resigns for next year even if Luck is here.
