Title: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: tubba marxxx on October 06, 2011, 01:37:29 pm http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/sage-rosenfels-set-to-return-to-miami-dolphins-100611
I actually like this signing. Sage played pretty well for us a few years ago during the Satan....er Saban era Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: Sunstroke on October 06, 2011, 02:30:43 pm I don't want our replacement QB playing well...I want our replacement QB to throw pick-6's, trip over his own shoelaces and otherwise suck badly enough to ensure that we don't win more than 1 game the entire season. Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: Doc-phin on October 06, 2011, 02:32:27 pm He is the right signing for Ireland/Sparano. Unfortunately, Sage will not "Suck for Luck". My guess is we end the season with between 5 and 7 wins. So we will just suck, no luck.
My God, do we need a real QB! I have no clue how we are ever going to get one. Now the only luck we can really hope for isn't capitalized. On a positive note, I think we have just upgraded our QB position twice in the last week. Moore is definitely more aggressive and Sage has demonstrated he can score points. Neither are future potential. Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: mecadonzilla on October 06, 2011, 02:35:12 pm Can't we trade for AJ Feely? He was always good for a pick 6!
Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: jtex316 on October 06, 2011, 02:37:46 pm Doc-Phin - you are insane.
You think the Dolphins can win b/w 5 and 7 of their next 12 games with a career back-up QB who couldn't even lead the Carolina Panthers to more than 1 victory? Including playing against some tough teams upcoming? After starting 0-4 and barely able to scratch out 16 points in the last 3 games? Wow. Just wow. Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: Pappy13 on October 06, 2011, 02:59:56 pm He is the right signing for Ireland/Sparano. Unfortunately, Sage will not "Suck for Luck". My guess is we end the season with between 5 and 7 wins. So we will just suck, no luck. What? Sage isn't nearly as good as Henne and Henne wasn't gonna guide the Dolphins to between 5 and 7 wins this year, not the way the defense was playing. The defense is gonna have to start living up to their billing to get 5 wins.Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: phinphan on October 06, 2011, 03:07:06 pm Rosenfels, 33, was with the Dolphins in 2002-05. He had a strong preseason for the Giants before a blood disorder sent him to the hospital, but he hasn't thrown a pass in a regular-season game since 2008.
Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: Doc-phin on October 06, 2011, 03:24:27 pm I told you what my guess was. We will see what happens.
My reasoning has a lot to do with the fact that we have been in every game till around the 4th quarter. We are getting back Davis, which moves Smith back to the #2 guy. We are getting back Thomas. I think we just upgraded at QB in terms of red zone. Rookies like Gates and Clay will get a little better as we move forward. Stuff like that is what I am considering. There will be some horrible games, but there will be some lucky ones that we manage to win. You guys don't think we will get lucky a few times this year? My guess is with jobs on the line we squeeze out some wins. 50% may be a little high, but 4 wins would be my minimum. We have 12 games left and I think we get 5-7 of them. How about this... Other than JTex (who always picks zero wins), what is your lowest realistic expectation? My guess is you would pessimistically pick 2 which means you really think 3 or 4. Am I really that far off with 5 or 6 and an optimistic 7? Lastly, I will remind you that I believe Henne was so shitty at two minute drill and red zone that Moore and Sage are actually upgrades at this point. Pappy believes they are a down grade, it is all opinion really. But it isn't like I am basing my opinion off of nothing. We can argue about Moore who seems to have good games and bad games (Carolina). But Sage can win and his only down side was the choke moments he had in Houston with that ultra shitty defense. Even our current shitty defense is better than that defense was. Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: MikeO on October 06, 2011, 05:24:50 pm He can wear a baseball cap and hold a clipboard with the best of them. He fit the job opening in Miami
Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: Phishfan on October 06, 2011, 05:33:28 pm Short of an injury to Moore, Sage doesn't take the field. I don't see why you guys think his signing means anything.
Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: BigDaddyFin on October 06, 2011, 07:15:17 pm I'm not sure why Sage never got a crack at the starting job to begin with. They bitched about Fiedler, and Saban cut him.
Daunte Culpecker turned out to be a total pig, but they never once considered benching him until we were 1-4. Gus Frerotte was the 1-year stopgap and he went to the rams with the guy who was our OC at the time. Let him have at it. I think Sage might be worth a three game look. Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: MikeO on October 06, 2011, 08:20:25 pm I'm not sure why Sage never got a crack at the starting job to begin with. Cause he sucks! Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: mecadonzilla on October 06, 2011, 09:55:48 pm Cause he sucks! I'm sure we'll get a chance to see for ourselves soon enough. Matt Moore has been bitten by the injury bug before. Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: miamid45 on October 06, 2011, 11:09:32 pm How low the "Dolfan" has sunk, when we are even questioning the potential of Sage Who?
This guy was out of football....SUCKED and is now our backup. Really sad...4 games in and the season is done. NEW EVERYTHING....once again lookng for a miracle for next years draft. Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: Dolphin-UK on October 07, 2011, 04:05:54 am Let the AGE OF SAGE BEGIN......erm.....again.....
Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: CF DolFan on October 07, 2011, 08:03:38 am Cause he sucks! Greatest comeback QB eva!!!! .... OK not really but it was pretty cool for the few thousand of us who stayed to watch it. Down 23-3 in the 4th quarter, Rosenfels led the Dolphins on three 4th quarter scoring drives, throwing for 272 yards and 2 touchdowns, as they beat the Bills, 24–23. Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: masterfins on October 07, 2011, 01:17:12 pm I like this signing, mainly because it didn't cost anything. I never had a problem with Sage, just never thought he is starting QB material. I imagine he will start a couple games this year, Moore is injury prone and the O-line ain't that great.
Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: Dave Gray on October 07, 2011, 01:23:16 pm CF must be happy.
...I give a big "meh" to this decision. Whatever. Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: Frimp on October 09, 2011, 12:35:38 pm Greatest comeback QB eva!!!! .... It was awesome. My top memory from that stadium. Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: CF DolFan on October 09, 2011, 06:40:37 pm I was there and I stayed! It was awesome. Just like Mike Golic said, The Fins will be 3- 13 if lucky Title: Re: Sage Rosenfels Returns to Miami Post by: miamid45 on October 10, 2011, 04:41:12 pm Never dreamt it would get to this point, despite Sparano and friends. Whay irks me, is watching Indy seemingly tank games on purpose...they were up 24-7 on KC and totally dominating, then they stopped throwing to Garcon and Wayne? GEEZ!

Indy isn't tanking games on purpose. They had Pitt almost beat but Pitt is just better. They had TB beat but TB made a big play late. And I watched that KC game yesterday and Indy didn't not tank in any way possible. Painter just isn't that good and the Colts defense couldn't cover Bowe. |
