Andrew Luck, Matt Barkley, Landry Jones, Robert Griffin III

Arguably the best draft class since 1983.  And like 1983, Miami should (emphasis on should because, well..anyways) draft one of these guys.  I put Luck in there because a trade shouldn't be ruled out.

Luck would be my first choice.
Barkley would be my second choice.
Jones would be my third choice.
I haven't even looked at Griffen yet, so I guess he would be my 4th choice at this point.

Barkley - I am just not sold on this guy at all. Something about him screams bust to me. Just my personal opinion.

Griffin - I know absolutely nothing about.

probably because he's a USC qb.

Carson Palmer was pretty good up until his knee was detonated.

Remember the playoff game between Pittsburgh and Cincy? Cincy would have went all the way that year until they lose Chad Johnson AND Palmer in the same damn play.

I think the Big Ben, Rivers, Eli class might end up being better. 3 Super Bowl rings already out of that one.

83 is up there too...Marino, Kelly both in Super Bowls and Elway winning 2. 10 Super Bowl appearances from that group. Yeah I know winning means more but still. lol

LOL that very well could be as I have a ton of hate for USC!!!! I do try and look past that and I have seen Barkley play quite a bit so who knows it could just be my hate for all things USC!!!!!!

Misunderstood me, the 1983 class is better by a mile. You got 3 hall of famers in that group. The Eli/Rivers/Ben class can win a bunch of rings they won't touch that class ever most likely. I was talking best classes SINCE 1983

But Ben is the true leader of that group. Eli only has a ring because of that defensive front.

BS....Eli during that playoff run was amazing. That team was a 6 seed and Eli was on fire throughout that playoffs.  He was 20-27 with 2 TD, NO INT's vs TB in Rd 1. 12-18 with 2 TD, NO INT's vs Dallas in Rd 2. In sub-zero weather at GB he threw for 250+ yards and NO INT's and led a 2nd half comeback and a game winning drive in OT to take this team to the Super Bowl.  Then in the Super Bowl he only went for 250+ yards, 2 TD's, TWO 4th quarter touchdowns in a comeback win, led a game winning drive in the Super Bowl over an unbeaten team.

Yeah Eli only has a ring because of the defense.....are you kidding me!!

Not sure if anyone else has noticed but there seems to be a funny pattern going on. As the season started everyone was on the Andrew Luck bandwagon. Best prospect in 30 years no doubt.  Then as several teams started "sucking for Luck" there arose another in Landry Jones who people began to say is "just as good or better" than Andrew Luck. But then something else happened ... we started winning and guess what? There suddenly became an overnight surgance of really good QBs in Barkley and now Griffin III. The way I see it, if we keep winning and make it to the Super Bowl there might be 32 QBs entering the league who are "just as good or better" than Andrew Luck.

So in short ... it's better for the league overall if we keep winning as it helps to develop college QBs. 

At this point in his career, Eli has a better winning % than big brother Peyton. That says something beyond, "he played with a great defense." IMO, the Steelers defense helped Ben much more than the Giants' D has been a factor for Manning. -EK

What I noticed is several people don't pay attention to college football, but still anointed Luck as the saving grace because a reporter (or blogger) said so in something they read. Griffin 3 has been the talk of college football all season long and people are still admitting they know nothing about him. I don't like his pro prospects much but the guy is a very good college QB.

There's certainly more to Andrew luck than "several people don't pay attention to college football". Pretty much everyone who does has annointed him the best QB prospect since 1983 and it started last year ... not this. Admittingly I'm not a huge college fan. I just don't get excited when one or two good players can have a game changing impact and stats are so slanted. I much prefer the NFL where it takes more than athletic ability to win.

Anyway with that said the biggest question for me is this. Is Andrew Luck really who they say he is or are all of the Johnny Come Latelies just as good? Landry Jones has been high for a while but I find it hard to believe most are any different than the JP Losmans or Alex Smiths of the world. This means they have showed promise but no guarantees. It's possible there is a Big Ben amongst them but odds are against it. This also means we probably have a better chance of one of them them working out as John Beck and Chad Henne did. 

With this mindset I would give up quite a bit to go after Luck but wouldn't for anyone else. The more we win, the more I'd give up. I don't think the Dolphins can afford another 7 years of mediocrity or worse. Remaining conservative and taking whatever is available hasn't worked for more years than I can remember so I feel it's time for plan B. They will need to make a bold move in the draft to get Luck.

But people are ignoring the fact that several commentaters are saying the Luck hype is growing to overhype. It is like a runaway train going downhill. Pretty soon we will be making the old Chuck Norris jokes about Andrew Luck.

Did you know Andrew Luck is so awesome it only takes him 30 minutes to watch 60 Minutes on TV?

Why is it a forgone conclusion that Barkley will come out? Isn't it still possible he returns to USC? He isn't a senior, he doesn't need the money (his family is pretty wealthy already), and if he stayed, he could go after the Heisman that Luck is going to win this year. I'm not saying he WILL stay, just that it's not so improbable. -EK

I get the over hype thing. It is annoying and in fact will only add to his pressure once he gets an opportunity to do so. I'm just saying he was highly touted way before it became cool to do so. The fact he didn't come out last year turned it into a freak show. In my opinion it seems to now have gone the opposite way where it's cooler to "find" someone as good as him.  That's the point I'm trying to make .... as an outside college person I have a much harder time buying into that.

Just because the hype has gone to overhype doesn't mean Luck still isn't a top prospect. Luck doesn't control the hype. That is ESPN, FOX, CBS...etc.
