Title: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: jtex316 on December 16, 2011, 08:14:33 am Norv Turner.
He will be fired from San Diego and will win Ross over with his "charm" (and Ross will be sold on the fact that he was the HC when the Chargers had an explosive offense - but yet never did squat with it). Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: BigDaddyFin on December 16, 2011, 08:37:01 am Norv isn't the worst thing in the world. I'd take Norv before I'd take Mangini or most of the names on the coaching list.
Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on December 16, 2011, 09:12:39 am ^^^ True, He is not the worst coach in the world.
But given the talent level of the Chargers, the team consistantly underperformed. There seems to be some bad anaylis on this board of coaching, such as blaming bad draft picks on coaches who do not have personnel responsiblities or giving credit to coaches for good drafting when they didn't really have anything to do with it. The GM in San Diego did his job in collecting enough talent, Norv was the problem. Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: jtex316 on December 16, 2011, 11:31:48 am ^ This is why Norv is a big "Uh-Oh" for Dolphins fans. His team is SO talented - yet under-performing consistently and seriously not matching expectations.
Does anyone think with medium / below-par talent that Norv will do anything great? Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: mecadonzilla on December 16, 2011, 11:33:47 am I would be ecstatic to have Norv as the OC in Miami...again. But under no way shape or form do I want him being the head banana. I think most GMs would feel the same way after watching his teams under perform for years.
Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: masterfins on December 16, 2011, 12:35:45 pm ^^^ Agreed. Norv is a good coordinator, not a good HC. You see it all the time, guys are great Coordinators, but end up sucking at being the HC.
Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: BigDaddyFin on December 16, 2011, 03:15:00 pm I think Norv would be able to get us back to the playoffs consistantly, but I don't know that he can get us a ring. With the right DC and the right GM, yeah maybe, so I'm not cringing at the thought, but I won't get my hopes up either.

Worry about who the Giants new HC will be after Cocklin has another December Debacle. Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: jtex316 on December 19, 2011, 03:01:17 pm Worry about who the Giants new HC will be after Cocklin has another December Debacle. Why should I? It's more fun to "worry" about who your sorry ass team will have leading them to mediocrity in 2012. Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: EKnight on December 19, 2011, 03:05:11 pm Hey JTex- at the end of the year, when neither team is in the playoffs, and the Giants have been passed in the standings by Philly, and your prediction about the Packers breaking the '72 record of THIS ONCE PROUD FRANCHISE, AND your 0-16 prediction is wrong.....what are ou gonna do? Just asking.... ;D -EK
Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: jtex316 on December 19, 2011, 03:19:57 pm ^ Enjoy the fact that my team >>> your team and my team BEAT your team this season. Four more years until the Dolphins have a chance to beat the Giants (and it will be in Miami in 2015 - how awesome will that be).

It's more fun to "worry" about who your sorry ass team will have leading them to mediocrity in 2012. Sorry ass team? Didn't the Ginas just lose to the Redskins? The same team Miami wiped the floor with a few weeks ago? And your precious New Jersey team barely escaped the game with Miami. The Giants are more of a joke than the Dolphins are. Every year there's hype around this shitty organization. Why? Because they stole a Super Bowl victory from the Patriots?..still milking off that success? Please, quit the double standard you're creating by saying you're sick of Miami's "Once proud franchise"...it's the same exact thing for a Giants fans to remind us they won a Super Bowl by the skin of their teeth 5 years ago when their team hasn't done shit since then. The Giants are one of the most overrated teams in the NFL today and they're nothing more than scumbag "me" players on the roster. Enjoy ANOTHER December Debacle Tex. Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: jtex316 on December 20, 2011, 02:27:19 pm ^ I like this reply. Let's break this down by dividing and conquering:
Sorry ass team? Yes, a "sorry ass" team (as in, their asses are sorry). Didn't the Ginas just lose to the Redskins? Yes - the same "Ginas" that beat the "LOLphins". The same team Miami wiped the floor with a few weeks ago? I wouldn't consider that game "wiping the floor" - it was a victory but let's not get carried away here. And your precious New Jersey team barely escaped the game with Miami. A win is a win is a win. The Giants are more of a joke than the Dolphins are. I will definitely disagree with this on many levels. No losing record since 2004, a few division titles, playoffs appearances and a little thing called a Super Bowl title along the way, all while drafting some very good players in the last few seasons, like Hakeem Nicks and Jason Pierre-Paul. Every year there's hype around this shitty organization. Why? Not this year - check out the thread in Around the NFL back in September - only I had Giants-hope. Everyone else penciled the Eagles into the Super Bowl. Because they stole a Super Bowl victory from the Patriots? If by "stole" you mean "wiped the floor" with them, then yes, they stole a victory. Would you rather have the Giants lose so that the Patriots could have gone 19-0? (Hmmmm....) ..still milking off that success? Yes - it feels good to have won a Super Bowl sometime in the last 40 years. Please, quit the double standard you're creating by saying you're sick of Miami's "Once proud franchise"...it's the same exact thing for a Giants fans to remind us they won a Super Bowl by the skin of their teeth 5 years ago when their team hasn't done shit since then. Actually, it's not - the Giants are still a proud franchise with a Super Bowl MVP QB on the roster. The Giants are one of the most overrated teams in the NFL today and they're nothing more than scumbag "me" players on the roster. I didn't see Reggie Bush or Brandon Marshall on the Giants roster... Enjoy ANOTHER December Debacle Tex. Misery loves company. Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Sorry ass team? Yes, a "sorry ass" team (as in, their asses are sorry). The Giants and Dolphins have a shot at ending up with the same record..a long way from your - 0 16 prediction. Didn't the Ginas just lose to the Redskins? Yes - the same "Ginas" that beat the "LOLphins". touche The same team Miami wiped the floor with a few weeks ago? I wouldn't consider that game "wiping the floor" - it was a victory but let's not get carried away here. Miami Held them without a touchdown, which is something the Giants "amazing" defesne couldn't do. And your precious New Jersey team barely escaped the game with Miami. A win is a win is a win. touche again The Giants are more of a joke than the Dolphins are. I will definitely disagree with this on many levels. No losing record since 2004, a few division titles, playoffs appearances and a little thing called a Super Bowl title along the way, all while drafting some very good players in the last few seasons, like Hakeem Nicks and Jason Pierre-Paul. you take the lead Every year there's hype around this shitty organization. Why? Not this year - check out the thread in Around the NFL back in September - only I had Giants-hope. Everyone else penciled the Eagles into the Super Bowl. still didn't answer my question. But again, I live in the tri-state area, so every year I have to hear how the Giants are the front runners in the NFC East Because they stole a Super Bowl victory from the Patriots? If by "stole" you mean "wiped the floor" with them, then yes, they stole a victory. Would you rather have the Giants lose so that the Patriots could have gone 19-0? (Hmmmm....) At the time, I was a huge Giants fan for that Super Bowl. However, as the years go by, I start to believe more and more that Miami is cursed by the 72 season. In other words, Miami won't have a chance until another team goes undefeated. And by "stole" I mean that Eli was a split second away from Mike Carey blowing the whistle and ruling him down at the 45 yard line. Thus the Tyree catch would've never happened, It would've been 4th and 15 or so, and probably wouldn't have picked up the first down, etc, etc ..still milking off that success? Yes - it feels good to have won a Super Bowl sometime in the last 40 years. I'm sure it does, but it just seems like every NY fan is bitter that the media doesn't talk about the Giants winning the Super Bowl, as much as they talk about the Patriots losing that Super Bowl. But then again, most NY fans are attention whores anyways. Replace "proud" with "lucky" and I'll agree with you. Scott Norwood? The Giants are one of the most overrated teams in the NFL today and they're nothing more than scumbag "me" players on the roster. I didn't see Reggie Bush or Brandon Marshall on the Giants roster... Marshall? yea..Bush? not so much. Tuck, Osi, Rolle, and Jacobs just to name a few are the ones I was talking about. Enjoy ANOTHER December Debacle Tex. Misery loves company. [/quote] I'll see you in 2 weeks when we're sharing a 7 - 9 record Title: Re: Uh-Oh - I think I know who will coach the Dolphins in 2012. Post by: tepop84 on December 21, 2011, 04:11:13 pm The giants have given up 38 more points than they have scored this year. Is that the sign of a good team? The dolphins have scored 17 more points than they have allowed.
