Title: Lousaka Polite Post by: MikeO on December 29, 2011, 08:10:37 pm after being out of work for 16 weeks where nobody offered him a deal let alone a tryout, the Pats signed him this week. Good chance he will be cut once the playoffs start, but for 1 week he will get a paycheck. And hey, if they win it all he will get ring too!
Big loss he was, Reggie Bush only rushed for 1,000+ yards without him! lol Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: Spider-Dan on December 29, 2011, 09:19:01 pm I tried to look up the stats for how the team has done on short-yardage rushes without Polite, but it turns out that MIA has simply abandoned the run on 3rd/4th and short. They don't even have a back that qualifies (http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/leaders.asp?year=2011&type=Rushing&range=NFL&rank=016) for stat tracking.

Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: mecadonzilla on December 30, 2011, 12:07:30 am The only thing he could have accounted for was a few more short distance conversions, would it have made any difference?
Not on this team. Not this year. Not on this team. Not this year. Yes, I think so. It wouldn't have made us a playoff team, but who knows....that 0-7 stretch was brutal. We were in a position to get a win or two during that stretch and sometimes winning breeds winning. But I see two wins (at least) from a short yardage 1st down here and there. Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: mecadonzilla on December 30, 2011, 02:06:48 am During the 0-7 stretch, wasn't Hilliard perfect from 3rd/4th and short?
What's the difference? Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: MikeO on December 30, 2011, 03:47:33 am Hillard was perfect all year I believe.
Miami didn't miss a beat. Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: MikeO on December 30, 2011, 03:48:13 am But I see two wins (at least) from a short yardage 1st down here and there. Which games? I don't see that at all. Any signing NE is making now is in anticipation of the playoffs, not concern over the Bills game. Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: Dave Gray on December 30, 2011, 07:47:32 pm Which games? I don't see that at all. I don't remember. I just remember saying it a lot during the year. Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: MikeO on December 30, 2011, 07:56:42 pm I don't remember. I just remember saying it a lot during the year. Considering Hillard was perfect (or near perfect) in that same role, I don't see where Lou was missed. Bush ran for 1,000 yards too. So, lead blocking wasn't an issue Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: Spider-Dan on December 30, 2011, 09:08:18 pm Where are you getting these stats for Hilliard? From memory?
Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: MikeO on December 30, 2011, 09:18:48 pm Where are you getting these stats for Hilliard? From memory? Heading into the Eagles game on Dec 11th, Lex was 7 for 7 on 3rd or 4th and 1. Philly stopped him. Only time he was stopped all year. Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: Spider-Dan on December 31, 2011, 12:05:58 am Are you getting these stats from memory?
Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: MikeO on December 31, 2011, 12:29:28 am Are you getting these stats from memory? Yes and No. I have watched every game and knew he was perfect up until recently and YES it was in the Sun-Sentinel (as confirmation) after the Philly game because it was the first time all year Hillard was "stopped" Title: Re: Lousaka Polite Post by: mecadonzilla on December 31, 2011, 12:55:10 am Whether or not Polite was involved, this team is a 5-11 or 6-10 team. Is he worth discussion?

Why do we have a thread about a guy who wouldn't really have made that much of a difference this year, and who isn't even on this team? |
