Congrats Jtex316.  Sorry Hoodie.

Thanks.

BTW you probably won't be seeing me much.  No, not because of the game.  I wasn't around the week leading up to it either.  I am just real busy with other stuff.  And I am over the game.  It is the least of my problems at the momement, by a very very large margin.

I gave my congrats to JTex in person last night, but I'll throw them in again here. It was a hard fought game.

I am a happy as a pig in shit that the Pats lost.  I'm happy JPP had a good game seeing he is a USF alumni and all.  Having said that, JTex can suck it.  You can have your bragging rights, but no congrats in order for you.  I don't know how you can root for a team that has a mouth breather like Eli as a QB?  Maybe because all that mouth breathing gives more oxygen to the brain and makes his decision making better?  I only rooted for them because it was like choosing between a douche-bag and a turd sandwich.  Yeah!  The turd sandwich won!

A mouth breather? That's a new form of prejudice I hadn't seen before ... not too mention I didn't even know Eli was one.

Mouth breathers would include Michael Phelps, Kyle Farnsworth, Napolean Dynamite ect.

Mouth Breather:

1. Someone who is incapable of breathing through their nose

2. Someone stupid who is unaware that their mouth is gaping open, often taking in gallons of air and spewing their own dry, bacteria rotten maw into your clean air in your vicinity.

I'm glad the Giants won, and good for them, but why would anyone conradulate Jtex? He didn't play for them! -EK

that's his team. He wears their colors. If the Dolphins would have won I'm pretty sure you would have gotten congratulations on "your" team winning.

I guess. I mean I see wear you're coming from, but it just seems silly. I would have felt dumb if Miami won, and someone congradulated me. True story- I was having a conversation with a friend a few years ago who played with the Cowboys during the 80s. I kept referring to Miami's awful season in terms of, "Our defense, our QB, we should have done this or that, etc." He finally stopped me and said, "You realize, you didn't play a down for the team, right? Do you know how dumb it sounds to keep saying 'we' like you had some sort of effect on the outcome?" Ever since, I realize the silliness of it, so that's just my slanted POV. That's why I try to refer, as often as I can, to my favorite team as "The Dolphins" in these threads, not "us" or "we." -EK

Joe didn't gloat the night of the SuperBowl either. Believe it or not, that's isn't Joe's style.

Couldn't agree more. Unless I suit up, I don't take credit or blame from them.

Well I have an opposite story.  Our soccer club just merged with the local USLPRO team Orlando City. They won the championship last year and are on the shortlist to become the next MLS team. The professional people are adament that we pass along the "we" mentality meaning "we" are on the short list to become the next MLs franchise or "we" jusrt signed Rooney (Wayne's brother) or "we" just tied Seattle yesterday etc. They are bringing that mentality to all of the Orlando area.

As a fan of any team I'm pretty sure it is expected of any fan to be a we and not an us or them.

Sounds like the guy you were talking to has a stick wedged up his backside...

As a fan of any team I'm pretty sure it is expected of any fan to be a we and not an us or them.

That's more like it...

When I refer to the teams I cheer for, it's "We" or "Our."

"We need to get more stability at our QB position."

I may not make a single reception, or tackle...but I put a lot of time and energy into supporting "my" teams, so I feel completely justified in applying the possessive pronouns.

For the money many fans pay for PSL's these days it is a "we", "us", and "our" situation.

That's a whole different level of insanity. For a PSL, you're not even paying for a stake in the team. You're paying for the right to purchase tickets. Meaning, you still have to buy season tickets on top of that.
