Maybe it's me but I always find it funny when wives get caught up in the action. I am a big fan of Kurt Warner but his wife needed to chill. I don't see this as a Brenda Warner story but considering Gisele wanted everyone to send her husband "positive energy" I think she must have given up on it.

My husband cannot [expletive] throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time," she said in a video obtained by TheInsider.com. "I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."

She's right, though. If the Pats didn't get the dropsies all of a sudden, they would have ring #4. I really wanted this Superbowl over with because even the littlest of things that were said by the Pats turned into some sensationalist piece of work for NY newspapers. They were just trying to find something to pin on the Pats and Brady. It was like it was politics. I'm glad it's over, and even happier the Giants won.

I'm guessing Welker won't be inviting the Bradys over for pizza anytime soon.

There were only a couple of drops, none of which were by Welker. Welker's wasn't a drop, he just didn't come down with it. That was a tough catch and sure he normally makes the tough catch, but you can't expect him to catch it no matter what. If that was Chad Henne throwing to Davone Bess we would have all been bitching that Henne missed another open wide receiver. No question.

It wasn't a perfect pass but the normally reliable Welker knew he should have made it and was ready to take the blame.

"The ball is right there. I've just got to make the play. It's a play I've made a thousand times in practice and everything else. It comes to the biggest moment of my life and don't come up with it. It's discouraging," Welker told reporters.

"It hit me right in the hands. I mean, it's a play I never drop, I always make. The most critical situation and I let the team down.

"We work on it all the time and try to make plays. It's one that will take a while to shake off, that's for sure," he added.

Of course he does. He's Wes and he's friends with Brady. Brady disagrees with Wes.

Besides, I don't think Gisele was referring to Welker's play, I think she was referring to the 2 out and out drops by New England players on the last drive. Those were drops.

Of course Wes is going to disagree. They're not going to finger point, they're not the Jets.

It really doesn't matter if it was or wasn't Wes' fault. He's done plenty to help Brady and Brady isn't going to throw him under the bus. Teammates matter and typically do not do that although the NFL has enough people that do. 

That's what's wrong with her doing it. She should have just kept her mouth shut and walked away. In defending Brady she attacked his teammates. That doesn't look good even if it is true.

When you find a man that's figured out how to control his wife's mouth, you let me know.

So I guess he's content to let Wes take all the blame.

I'm really sick of these types of stories even getting printed.  She wasn't giving an interview, or even answering a reporters question.  She made a remark to some loud mouth drunk, and some celebrity stalker "reporter" tries to make it big headlines.  Just plain crappy "journalism".

That is an interesting interpretation of "we win as a team, and we lose as a team."

Gisele took the loss harder than Matt Light and Rob Gronkowski. A few hours after the game they hit the party scene and danced danced danced till the morning hours.

The whole thing is a non-story. Somebody with a phone-cam caught a frustrated wife blurting out her feelings. She has nothing to do with the team, but the media needed something else to write about. -EK

Worse yet, IMO, is this- when did it become OK to blast family members for player performance? It was classless to have said anything to her at all- much more classless than her retort. -EK

It’s a slow Friday, and I was making the rounds and I noticed a blurb on ESPNBoston.com that was worth a quick mention.

A very quick mention.

The sister of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is engaged to marry Red Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis.

And so when the Red Sox lose the World Series after the first baseman drops a toss or two from third, the eventual Mrs. Youkilis can say, “My husband cannot f–king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time.”

Yep, I wrote this story for the sole purpose of using that line.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Wes Welker is 0-2 in Super Bowls.

...At least he was there, right? lol
