Title: Re: Ricky Williams to retire Post by: EKnight on February 07, 2012, 01:31:45 pm Irrespective of any outside crap, his 2002 season was just insane. With the pass-happy NFL, I doubt any other Dolphin will ever match it:
1853 yards/16 TD's/363 yards receiveing and another TD. Back-to-back 200+ yard games against Buff and Chic. Just ridiculous. -EK Title: Re: Ricky Williams to retire Post by: Brian Fein on February 07, 2012, 02:42:28 pm Ricky Williams retires....again....

Title: Re: Ricky Williams to retire Post by: Phishfan on February 07, 2012, 03:35:12 pm I was mad at Ricky at first but I got over it with time. Watching Run Ricky Run helped me with a bit of that I think. He really is a complex dude.
Title: Re: Ricky Williams to retire Post by: el diablo on February 07, 2012, 03:52:18 pm Congrats to #34 for a great career. Would have loved to see him retire ad a Dolphin. He was the best Dolphin RB during my generation. Thx for the memories.

I agree completely...I hope he has nothing but success in all his bong-smoking endeavors. Title: Re: Ricky Williams to retire Post by: MikeO on February 07, 2012, 07:03:20 pm Great athlete, great mother who I had the pleasure of dealing with on a few occasions, one of the best college football players of all time. But in all honesty the dude was messed up in the head bad and it ruined his career, his life, and probably most of his children's lives (considering they are spread out across the country and he doesn't see most of them). And he is the perfect example of what happens to some people when they grow up without a strong father presence around.
He seems to have turned his life around. And the NFL should pay this man to speak to rookies every year on what NOT to do! How not to throw away your career on drugs and blow all your money. And don't go knock up 3 girls in 3 states and have 5 kids half of which you don't have a relationship with and pay through the nose every month to support. The NFL should pay him to be the entire "rookie symposium." He is a one man show who covers it all! I dare say that he would do a better job. >:DTitle: Re: Ricky Williams to retire Post by: masterfins on February 07, 2012, 09:02:06 pm Ricky - I loved him, I hated him, I forgave him. The guy has had some mental issues that have affected his judgement, some of them self-imposed, but he's got heart. Good Luck to him.
