Title: Benefits of syncing your google stuff?
Post by: bsfins on February 24, 2012, 11:50:08 am
I use Gmail, and love the Chrome browser, sometimes use Youtube (a little more often lately)....I'm not into Google+...

I noticed when I click the new tab (I get the screen with the most visited sites) In the top right corner...It says sign in to Chrome,I clicked it,and it wants to sync everything...

Anyone "sign into" chrome?

Is this just Skynet coming to get us? more ways of tracking my hairy white ass?

(I'm already in the beta of unroll.me,which I'm already a tad nervous about using)

I don't use those things, but I do like the idea of a universal login.  Facebook has lost a lot of what made it great (I hate that everything posts to my wall for me), but I really like how I can use my Facebook login to post on forums that I know I'm only going to look at once.

I would like to get in to Google's suite of services, but I just haven't made the time to check it all out.

Dave, when you log-in to something using your FB log-in, does it block your info? Can people then click through to your info or is that just a matter of locking it down? I always see the FB log-in, but never go for it because I don't want my info out there.

It depends on your Facebook privacy level.  If you are set to private or friends only, they can't see it.

I love it. No matter what computer I am using I can get my bookmarks etc. Love the convenience.

I'm set to private already, so now I'll try logging in somewhere with it. I hate registering for a site that I'm not going to use that often.
