Title: (Music) Who is the most talented artist? Post by: bsfins on March 26, 2012, 02:18:00 pm I'm sorry this is one of those,I hear something,my stupid brain remembers it,and dwells upon it endlessly....So I'll ask it...
I heard some loud mouth professing in the parking lot,(I'm leaving out names as not to contaminate,but still give you the idea).....(Artist A) is way more talented than (Artist B) ever was....Blah,Blah,Blah... In my mind, I was thinking... What a effin idiot,Artist A's hay day,before Artist B was born,and probably without Artist A,artist B might not have been around... I had no inklings to go go argue with the bozo,but that about all I could attribute to the argument..Driving home I got stuck thinking about,who would I consider the greatest/most talented artist in music? So guess what I ask your opinion....but let's make it less complicated... In the Genre/s you listen to most who do you think is the most talented artist,and why? and if you have an answer,who do you think is the most talented artist of all time? Although I prefer to listen to Tchaikovsky.

I think his guitar work and raspy voice push him tot he top of the blues world currently (although he stretches way past just the blues).

Mediocre guitar player. Fronted one of the best bands of all time, Pantera. Has side projects that warrant a listen (Down, Superjoint Ritual, etc.) The overall package that he brings to the table defines talent. Some are better singers (Corey Taylor). Some are better songwriters (Rob Flynn). He played with one of the best guitarist (Dimebag Darrell-R.I.P ). To be able to encompass all 3 skills, is talent to me.

Bass - Les Claypool (Primus) Drummer - John Bonham (Zeppelin) Singer - Brandon Boyd (Incubus) Not creating a superband or anything like that, all those genres are different, but at each individually is super talented IMO.
