Title: Re: RIP Dick Clark Post by: Brian Fein on April 18, 2012, 04:09:48 pm Someone needs to get on creating Hologram Dick Clark before New Years Eve. Make it happen!
Title: Re: RIP Dick Clark Post by: Dave Gray on April 18, 2012, 04:13:09 pm Ryan Seacrest. That dude is the new Dick Clark. Hate it all you want, but it's true.

Not hating on Ryan Seacrest but New Year's Rockin' Eve will never be the same without Dick Clark. Title: Re: RIP Dick Clark Post by: Dave Gray on April 18, 2012, 05:20:38 pm ^ Are you kidding? Dick Clark has been holding back New Years Eve for almost 10 years. The guy was a corpse and it was depressing as shit to see him every year. I felt bad for him.

Why anybody actually liked to watch a guy slur his words and look like he is an inch from death is beyond me. I don't understand why they kept putting him on there. Title: Re: RIP Dick Clark Post by: SportsChick on April 18, 2012, 07:45:26 pm NYE wont be the same. RIP

The guy was a corpse and it was depressing as shit to see him every year. I felt bad for him. I was referring to pre-stroke Dick Clark. The post-stroke Dick Clark was depressing to watch but they let him stay on it because he was a legend. Seacrest has some big shoes to fill Title: Re: RIP Dick Clark Post by: masterfins on April 19, 2012, 02:28:28 pm Maybe those mayans, or incans, are correct and the World will end in December??

NYE can survive w/o Dick Clark.
Title: Re: RIP Dick Clark Post by: Dave Gray on April 20, 2012, 12:39:03 pm There are a few corporate tools that I like. I think that general announcer for stuff like talent shows, parades, and holiday events is really, really, really tough. If you can be even the least big genuine and not come off like a total douce, props to you. Dick Clark was able to do that. So is Seacrest. The dude makes all of that corny banter as painless as possible. Props to him. I also like Tom Bergeron for this. It's not even that he's funny; it's that he's able to maintain some sort of dignity in doing an awful job. But the fact that he can go on a show like America's Home Videos and make it palatable, I'm impressed.
