Title: Old NFL games on DVD Post by: Spider-Dan on April 26, 2012, 03:11:54 am A while back, I remember a discussion about whether it was possible to get a copy of an old NFL game on DVD.
I recently found this site: http://www.sportsgamesondvd.net/ They have copies of many sports games on DVD. I ordered a copy of 2009 NYJ@MIA (orange jersey game) for $10 shipped, and it was pretty well near DVD quality. (In the interests of full disclosure, the first copy they sent me had a recording defect right at the end of the 4th quarter; I wrote them an e-mail and they promptly shipped out another copy at no extra charge.) The only negative thing I have to say about the copy of the game I received is that it's the fullscreen broadcast, not the widescreen. I understand that they can't put the actual HD broadcast on DVD, but it would have been nice if the copy was a downsampled version of the widescreen HD broadcast, instead of the fullscreen SD broadcast. However, some of their other games are listed as "HD source" and come on multiple DVDs, so there is that. I was also considering ordering the 2004 NE@MIA orange jersey game, but I wanted to place this order first and see how it went. Overall, I give them a 9/10 (based on my limited experience). I got the fake spike game, the 2003 Phins/Broncos game, and the wildcat game from him. He also has a DVD of every Dan Marino TD pass.
