Not till Mid-July. It's way too early to start drafting or practice drafting.

But me and my boss were talking about guys today at work and where they should go...lol

Man, I am so relieved that I am done with the fantasy basketball and hockey seasons that I don't even want to think about fantasy football until at least mid-June.

I know that some keeper leagues do their rookie/FA draft only a month or so after the regular draft, but for redraft leagues, it is way to early to be thinking about it. 

I always wanted to get into a "serious" dynasty league that sorta goes year round type. I think that would be fun. I have been offered to "join in" existing dynasty leagues but of course you take over the worst team because someone quit and ran it in the ground and that kinda ruins it for me.

Well, this is like being a real NFL owner or GM.  How often does a team get a new GM or owner the year after they make the playoffs?  Almost never. 

Bob Kraft took over a NEP that was horrible.  Teams that are currently for sale or have been sold recently have all been sub .500.  Teams that have new GMs are all teams that had a horrible season.   Occationally a GM will retire on top, but that is rare. 

If you want to get into a serious dynasty league realize you will need to start at the bottom and rebuild.  Take a long term approach and realize for a couple of years you won't be competitive.  Trade any good but older players to teams that are in the hunt for players that are young and improving.  Use your higher draft picks wisely and in 3-4 years you can be competive. 

My buddy is in a keeper league where you can keep up to two players from your previous year's roster.  For each player you keep, you forfeit a draft pick.  If you were to keep two guys, who would they be?  Here is the roster:

I'm thinking that rebuilding a crap team from the gutter to a contender would be the fun of a dynasty league, and enable you to show off your skills.  I think I'd welcome the challenge.

IMO, it seems like an easy keeper (in May anyway).  Keep Rogers and Foster.  Screw everybody else.

Or just get 9 or 11 other guys and start one from scratch!

Kevin Kolb and Jermaine Gresham for sure...those guys are beasts. ;)

Dustin Keller and Laurent Robinson would be my picks.  They are both projected to have career seasons.

I learned a lesson last year that you can't live off of projections.  Go with your gut.

No brainer....Rogers and Foster.....the exact same guys I will be keeping in one of my keeper leagues this year as well.

Only problem with that is they are more likely to break down. 

If you get in a league that has been around for 10+ years with the majority having been in it for seveal years and one guy is getting out, then odds are the league is gonna be around for many more years.

If you get into a new league with 9 or 11 guys who have never been in a dynasty league, it might stick around, but I wouldn't bet on it.
