Title: Greeting Card thoughts (but Mothers day mainly) Post by: bsfins on May 09, 2012, 03:47:00 pm Lately I've bought a few greetings card, and they seem to annoy me more than ever...I've had two family members die recently, and Mothers day this Sunday. It seems like they want to be over the top novellas, some with scriptures,to go along with long poems,on,and on...
The death cards, I just basically wanted to say sorry for your loss... Mothers day card,I want it basically to say I love you Mom, Happy Mothers day!Maybe even a funny one,to go along with the more basic one... For me it seemed like SOOoo many of the Mother's day cards had so much other, crapola on it, pop flowers, dangly things, ribbons, glitter, and hard to read print to go with the novellas. If I wanted all the other stuff said, I would write it,I feel it's much more personal, and not filled with a generic message... I've made a few in the past, but I get sort of torn between heartfelt, and flat-out being a cheap ass...I might start making them myself again... So how do you like your Greeting cards,funny/humorous,pretty and basic, filled with poems and scriptures, with music, and bells and whistles? Do you make your own? I like to find a nice simple funny one usually.

When forced to pick one out (for a co-worker's birthday), I usually go for funny. If I'm going to give a card to my wife, I make it with construction paper or print something out.
