Title: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: MikeO on May 20, 2012, 06:49:21 am Naannee very impressed with Tannehill
From the Miami Herald Because Dolphins rookie Ryan Tannehill knows more about Mike Sherman’s offense than Matt Moore and David Garrard, Moore admits “it’s a little awkward” that “if you have a question, you ask the rookie. But Ryan’s been great with that.” Receiver Legedu Naanee was so impressed with how Tannehill looked on field in recent days (“puts the ball in the right spot”) that he said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if any of the three wins the job. It’s very, very close” so far. Philbin cracked that Tannehill knows the offense better than he does. Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: Landshark on May 20, 2012, 07:39:58 am I'm with the crowd that thinks Tannehill won't be the opening day starter but will be starting by season's end.

No he probably won't be the opening day starter. But by middle of the season I could see him under center. Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: mecadonzilla on May 20, 2012, 01:12:32 pm Hopefully Nannee won't be with the team long enough to find out who the starter will be come opening day.
Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: EKnight on May 20, 2012, 01:26:29 pm ^^Lol. I was thinking Nanee needs to worry about even making the team, not who is starting at other positions. -EK

Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: MikeO on May 21, 2012, 01:47:38 am And we care what this guy thinks, why? He is on the team and catching passes from the various QB's on our roster ::) He can give a little very early insight into this 3-way QB battle. It was just a nice little blurb I came across. Never said you (or anyone else) should read that much into it, as I didn't. Took it at face value for what it was. I figured if the Miami Herald felt it was worth running it was worth noting at least. Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: Brian Fein on May 21, 2012, 10:36:02 am ^^ yes, agree. Face value.
Jay Fiedler was a great QB in practice. Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: Spider-Dan on May 21, 2012, 12:54:09 pm Jay Fiedler was clearly better than two of the guys on the field, and Tannehill is an unknown. So he might not be the best point of comparison.
Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: CF DolFan on May 21, 2012, 01:25:22 pm I would rather hear from practice squad hopeful who is catching the guys than arm chair QB who is looking to make himself relevant but that's just me.
Don't get me wrong as I do read training camp reports from fans. I just take it for what it's worth just as I do this guys opinion. Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: BigDaddyFin on May 21, 2012, 02:20:51 pm If Naanee is on the team he probably drops more of their passes than he catches. But at least they're trying to get players around Tannehill.
Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: EKnight on May 21, 2012, 04:15:44 pm Stephen Ross reporting he expects Moore to be the starter this year. Ross>Naanee. -EK
Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: bsfins on May 21, 2012, 04:57:51 pm The only thing,I take from any the comments about Tannehill,so far....Even if Philbin,Ireland are completely wrong about him, everyone seems to think pretty highly of him when talking to him...
I'm also concerned him knowing the playbook so well, puts extra pressure on him... Title: Re: Naanee high on Crack Post by: Sunstroke on May 21, 2012, 05:00:03 pm I'm not buying Naanee having any keen insight into how the team plans on using Tannehill... Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: MikeO on May 21, 2012, 05:27:25 pm The only thing,I take from any the comments about Tannehill,so far....Even if Philbin,Ireland are completely wrong about him, everyone seems to think pretty highly of him when talking to him... I'm also concerned him knowing the playbook so well, puts extra pressure on him... I don't think there is extra pressure on him. I mean he was picked 8th overall, he has pressure. Not much extra pressure can be added when you are picked that high. Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: BigDaddyFin on May 21, 2012, 11:20:02 pm He's going to have pressure on him especially from the fans. We went from Bob Griese to Marino almost immediately. As long as the fans don't do to him what they did to Jay Fiedler he'll be fine.
Title: Re: Naanee high on Tannehill Post by: Brian Fein on May 22, 2012, 10:22:26 am The fans already think he's the next Peyton Manning. Before he was even drafted, how many fans said things like "we haven't drafted a first round QB since 1983"? This guy can do nothing but fail, and if Matt Moore is named the starter, the cameras will be on Tannehill's clipboard-holding face every time Moore does as much as throw an incomplete pass.
