Title: AFC East Preseason Week 1 Post by: Doc-phin on August 11, 2012, 11:48:22 am Sorry, looked like the other threads got derailed a bit so I started a new one and a bit more inclusive of the division.
I haven't gotten to watch anything more than Dolphins highlights against the Bucs yet, but I got to watch some of the Jets, Pats, and Bills. Personally, I thought they all sucked. It sounds like we sucked too. That Chad Johnson drop looked like a drive killer to me, but who cares in preseason? I remember Marshall dropping tons of balls in his first preseason with us and he did great in the regular season (except for in the end zone). The deep ball later in the game looked well covered by the safety and really could have been an interception, but he didn't play it right in the air. That kind of stuff can get fixed. No worries from me. It is just preason game #1 and more of a warm up than anything. Like I said, the rest of the division didn't impress me any either. Can't read anything into it
Title: Re: AFC East Preseason Week 1 Post by: EKnight on August 11, 2012, 11:58:04 am I was VERY surprised at how well Tannehill moved the ball and utilized the no huddle, even if it was against back-ups. The Jets D looked ok against Cincy. Coples looks like the guy I thought he would be, but it Tannehill is as he was last night I'll be the first to admit I was wrong about which one to take. The Pats are the Pats. They're going to win 12-14 games like every year. I didn't see any of the Bills game.
Edit- I do have to admit I was massively disappointed at going for 2 fifty yard field goals. It's the preseason; what do you have to lose? Didn't Miami fire it's previous coaching staff for this mentality and subsequent results? -EK Title: Re: AFC East Preseason Week 1 Post by: Landshark on August 11, 2012, 12:11:17 pm Edit- I do have to admit I was massively disappointed at going for 2 fifty yard field goals. That's how it is with the Dolphins Title: Re: AFC East Preseason Week 1 Post by: MikeO on August 11, 2012, 12:23:03 pm New coaches, new players, same results. That's how it is with the Dolphins The field goal unit needs practice too...lol Once again, I wouldn't read that much into it. He wasn't coaching to "win the game". He was trying to get every unit some work in the first preseason game. |
