Title: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Doc-phin on August 30, 2012, 11:06:46 am It seems to be about time to start making some predictions. Feel free to add in context but be sure to throw out a record prediction. Put your record prediction at the top if you add context.
My prediction... 4-12 Preseason has been rediculous. Jake Long is injured. Rookie at QB. Minimal pass rush. Traded one of our better corners. Minimal experience at safety. Major depth concerns. Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: EKnight on August 30, 2012, 11:11:15 am 5-11, 6-10 at best. Same concerns. -EK

Feeling optimistic. Easy schedule, Jets & Bills both overrated, so I'm hoping we win a couple close ones this year. Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: mecadonzilla on August 30, 2012, 11:32:57 am 4-12. The best possible scenario is 6-10, but all the breaks would have to go our way.
No defense. No receivers. Rookie QB. It's going to be a long year. Can't wait for 2014, though. :'( Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on August 30, 2012, 11:34:36 am Dolphin's 6-10
NE wins the AFCE, go one and done in the playoffs. Bills get a wildcard. Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: MikeO on August 30, 2012, 11:35:56 am 6-10 (while not good it isn't going to be as bad as the media is making it out to be, plus the schedule is not that tough.) Defense will keep this team in a lot of games and make us look respectable.
Gonna take another year. We have 20-25 guys in the final years of the deal. We will cut that dead weight next offseason and be a major player in free agency with $45mill to spend. We have stockpiled draft picks in the early rounds and another year of a Top 10 pick helps. Plus Tannehill will make his mistakes this season and better to get them out of the way THIS year. Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Dolphster on August 30, 2012, 11:43:54 am I was going to say 4-12, but since a couple of you already laid claim to that one, I'm going to go with 5-11. I'm bummed about it, but it is what it is. At least I'm refraining from infuriating people by rolling out a "this once proud franchise" comment. ;)

Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Thundergod on August 30, 2012, 12:14:52 pm 5-11, nothing new
Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: mecadonzilla on August 30, 2012, 12:19:30 pm Wow, skipping right past 2013 also. Yup. With all the early draft picks in 2013, we will be expected to wait a year (or more) for them to develop, too. Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Tenshot13 on August 30, 2012, 12:33:34 pm 10-6. Lol
Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: MikeO on August 30, 2012, 12:35:06 pm Yup. With all the early draft picks in 2013, we will be expected to wait a year (or more) for them to develop, too. With over $40 mill to spend in free agency next year we will get quick better in a few spots though as well. Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: hordman on August 30, 2012, 12:43:02 pm Talking with my boy about their record this morning, 4-12 or 5-11, realistically. Year away from seeing anything, re-building this year, alot of draft picks next year, all the other things mentioned above, etc.
As long as Tannehill shows that he can be an NFL QB and the team improves as the year goes on, I'm fine with that. I really am. I'm not one to say the sky is falling after the O-fer preseason game, but I don't put alot of emphasis on these games. Remember last year's 3-1 record and then getting steamrolled for over 600yds on Monday nite? Hey, I think there's gonna be some close games, ones we lose by 3-7 pts. I am going to say 5-11, with some luck going our way, maybe 7-9. That's all you can hope for. God Phins!!! Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on August 30, 2012, 12:58:09 pm 5-11, 6-10 at best. Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: MaineDolFan on August 30, 2012, 01:25:29 pm 12-4.
Pre season we're playing rope a dope. ;D The NFL won't know what hit 'em. Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Pappy13 on August 30, 2012, 01:27:50 pm 6-10 provided Hartline and Long are healthy. I think they get better as the year progresses. Offense and defense will both struggle early as both squads are still "thinking" too much about assignments and such and not just playing. As they get comfortable in the system it will look a little better. Miami will look to play "spoiler" role for Bills and/or Jets late in the year. Patriots will win the East. Neither Bills nor Jets make the playoffs.
Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: el diablo on August 30, 2012, 02:49:13 pm 3-13.
Rookie at QB & head coach. Things look bad on offense already. Any injuries and we're that much worse. Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Landshark on August 30, 2012, 02:56:15 pm I'll go with 3-13 as well. With the way these guys are playing, that's about as good as it will get
Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: EKnight on August 30, 2012, 03:04:31 pm Pick a final record, none of this range crap. Lol, yeah cause that extra game makes a hyooooge difference. Fine then, my prediction for the entire AFC East: Pats: 12-4 Bills: 8-8 NYJ: 7-9 Phins: 5-11 -EK Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on August 30, 2012, 07:47:48 pm I am going with 5-11, I am not impressed.

I'm going with 0 - 16 for that same reason Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: hordman on August 30, 2012, 09:49:52 pm Pick a final record, none of this range crap. Damn, I thought you left this board for red silver blue pasture. You Pats fans are pain in my ass. Can't take all the good that has happened with your team in the last 10-12 years and enjoy it. You lose 2 times in the SB in the under-matched NY Giants and you have to beat everyone done. My prediction, 5-11 Oh, and as for the Pats, 12-4 and they crap the bed in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Brian Fein on August 30, 2012, 11:22:30 pm I thought 6 wins was realistic. I still think it is. I can find a few games on the schedule that could go either way but most won't be pretty.
6-10 Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Dolarltexas on August 31, 2012, 01:57:50 am 3-13, last in the AFC East, and top three pick in next year's draft (not that they'll draft anyone worth a damn..)
Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on August 31, 2012, 02:18:48 pm Paging Jtex. We need your 0-16 prediction.
Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Cdogg on September 05, 2012, 05:55:41 pm Traded one of our better corners. Minimal experience at safety. Major depth concerns. Vontae Davis was a bum...I said it all along Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Cdogg on September 05, 2012, 05:56:59 pm 7-9
Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: CF DolFan on September 05, 2012, 06:03:53 pm I'll go with three wins but I won't be disappointed about it. We are missing about 3 players on offense and another three on defense to be where we need to be. I see next year as the year we get to .500 and hope that in year three we can make a legitimate run.
Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: bsfins on September 05, 2012, 06:55:39 pm 5-11 With most those wins coming in November and December Colts,Bill, and Jaguars...It could happen*....
*(My little ode to the Love Goddess Judy Tenuta) :D Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Spider-Dan on September 05, 2012, 07:12:27 pm 6-10.
Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: miamid45 on September 05, 2012, 07:33:15 pm Running Game carries us and defence stands tall...9-7 and in the thick of it until the end.
Tannehill in consideration for Rookie of the Year! Am I dreaming? Probably, however every season there are surprise teams rising from the ashes...why not us? Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Dave Gray on September 05, 2012, 07:55:42 pm 7-9
Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Dolphin-UK on September 06, 2012, 03:17:28 am Luck comes to Miami but not in the way we all had hoped. Catch a few lucky bounces with a team which startes trying hard behind their rookie QB.
8-8 Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: USO-ORLANDO on September 06, 2012, 02:52:58 pm 3-13
Title: Re: Season Predictions 2012-2013 Post by: Diehard_Dolfan on September 06, 2012, 06:28:53 pm With the way things look I'm thinking 3-13 or 4-12
The best I can see us going is 5-11 I've never felt this low about Miami even during our 1-15 season. Until the end i kept thinking we could win games that year.. this yr with our receivers, lack of a pass rush, and our secondary... I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. In the pre season I saw the same issues with our secondary safeties not being able to make plays on the ball while in the air. Too many times they looked clueless and made avg receivers look like stars! |
