Philbin hands down.  47-48 yard field goals are never a gimme, yet the HC and OC played like that's all they needed at the end of the 4th and in OT. 

Nice job with the icing, too, dumbass.

Which team tried to ice the kicker?

In OT, NYJ lined up for a game-winning field goal.

MIA blocked it, but Philbin had called timeout right before the snap (a stupid, but currently popular, strategy).

Jets got a do-over and won the game.

Both teams. They iced Carpenter and we iced their kicker. He is alluding to the fact Philbin did it at the last second and the jets still hiked the ball and we blocked it. He is pretending Philbin was wrong for calling the timeout prior to us blocking it. Not sure how he is suppose to be a fotune teller

Well it never should have come down to that in the first place.

Carpenter without a doubt.  He makes either kick he missed, the game is over. 

Honorable mention to Joe Philbin.  This shithead abandoned the run in the fourth quarter when it was working well, and as a result the offense couldn't stay on the field.  Then he calls a timeout on a blocked kick.  Dumb ass moves by a supposedly smart coach.

Icing the kicker is no longer a good call...especially on short tries.  Kickers are expecting it, and it just doesn't work nearly well enough as it did the first year it was en vogue.  In fact, I bet it hurts more than it helps.  Saw it hurt today and saw hurt it last week in the Skins/Rams game.

FWIW I was pissed when they blew the whistle even before I saw the block.  It's just not a good strategy anymore.

Philbin coached a good game.  You guys are nuts.  Look at this team compared to last season...playing better with inferior talent.  Even the Jets had better talent, yet we won the game twice.  We aren't predictable and we trust our qb.  And it worked.  Your kicker didn't make kicks...twice.

Had you of told me yesterday we would go into overtime tied 20 -20 I would have taken it. The truth is we are playing better than our actual talent. 

PRO level kickers need to be almost automatic inside 50 yards. Carpenter might wanna watch for his job after this performance.

Tannehill gets shame of the game this week.  The TD pick six was a major factor and he was only like 15-36 and had a hundred yards passing.  Not what you want to see from a rookie. 

He had a lot of dropped passes yes.  But without the INT the game never gets into overtime.

He had 196 passing. Pick him if you want but accuracy is nice.

today its all on carpenter.  get 1 of those kicks and we win.   the pick six is not even considered.   defense did great considering...

Some stupid coaches think that letting the opposing kicker get a practice kick is a good thing.  These stupid coaches are stupid.

I have no idea why he's even in the league.  He can't run.  He's injury prone and likes to fumble.  That's not good.

Are we supposed to be mad about Fireland starting this season or the others that he's totally mishandled?  It's hard to discern anymore.

Saw this in Peter King's MMQB column.  I don't know if he gets a vote or not but he did cast one.

Since I can't split the shame award, I'm giving it to Carpenter. You can't miss twice buddy, not twice.

My shame Carpenter. From 48 & 47 are not gimme kicks, but you should make at least one of them.

In the world where the team and staff did what they had to do to win, but lost due to a kicker's error.  Of course they didn't ACTUALLY win.

Then in some fairy tale land where everyone gets a trophy they won? Moral victories are a stupid concept. The Dolphins lost the game.

And deserved to lose. 

They didn't lose because a kicker missed a long kick in overtime.  They lost because of a very bad defensive play at the worst possible time.  It's not as if the Jets just kicked the FG from the spot where Carpenter missed the kick.  Why do folks want to forget that? 
 
He missed a kick that he should have made and he'd be the first to say that, BUT just because you miss a kick doesn't mean the defense should stop playing.

I'm not talking about moral victories, but when assessing what went wrong, I submit the evidence that the coach and QB (those being ridiculed) put the team as a whole in a position to win the game under normal, statistical circumstances.  And Carpenter didn't come through.

Tannehill and Philbin did their part to win the game.  Carpenter did not.

Has to go to Carpenter this week. Heartbreaking to lose to the hated Jets in that game which we easily could have won.
