Title: Armando Salguero Article This Morning Post by: hordman on October 01, 2012, 07:31:11 am From this morning's online Herald:
http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/ (http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/) I usually like Armando and what writes/speaks of the current Phins situation, but sometimes he dumps too much on the Phins. I mean yesterday was a disappointing loss, but I told my boy before Feeley (a little bitch mind you) made the FG in OT, that even if we lost, I felt we are moving the right direction. Tannehill looks like the real deal. The running game had its moments. I was impressed with the DEF all day. I know the game-tying TD was hard to watch, but they were out of gas from rushing Kolb and the WR got open. I mean, we lost 2 OT games in a row, but we are competing and not looking pathetic as in years past. Remember when we traveled out to AZ in 2008? We got shallacked 31-10 and it wasnt even close. ARZ is the real deal, DEF is tough and the offense has some weapons. But in the Armando article, he is never happy. His comments: This was a loss, folks, and this season is officially in a tailspin. So tomorrow looks good. Today looks like a heaping pile. So even when guys play great, these Dolphins find a way to lose. Come on Armando, this is a rebuilding season, and now we're in a tailspin?!?! The NY Jets? THEY'RE IN THE TAILSPIN We are a young team figuring out where we are right now. I for one, said before the start of the season, if they show they are getting better as the year goes on and we finish 4-12, 5-11, I'm happy with it as long as Tannehill shows he can handle it and we are moving in the right direction. I see that after 4 games. I do want to say that the DEF played very well. I have dumped on them before, but the DBs played well, the front line (Wake in particular) was a beast and they stuffed the run. If Armando can't take that away from this game, I don't know what will make him happy. Title: Re: Armando Salguero Article This Morning Post by: EKnight on October 01, 2012, 08:10:05 am While the front seven- and the pass rush in particular- played lights out, I don't think the defense as a whole played "well." Same story as last year- can't stop the pass, lose a lead in the fourth. Consider the general opinion held about Sanchez and Kolb, and then realize they both went over 300 yards against Miami. It's inexplicable- even with the late turnovers- that Miami loses so many fourth quarter leads because of a porous secondary. Everyone wants to know why I'm so sour on Tannehill, and it's equally tht I believe he stinks and that I believe the high pick could- and should- have been used to improve the secondary. They went the entire draft without taking a safety; not even gambling on one, but drafted guys like Cunningham instead.
Is tailspin too harsh? I thinks it's a valid point to make in saying if you can't win when half a dozen players are having career days, when can you win? -EK Title: Re: Armando Salguero Article This Morning Post by: CF DolFan on October 01, 2012, 08:40:49 am We needed more help in the receiving corps and defensive backfield going into the season. I wasn't aware that had changed since the season started. Am I missing something? Our DBs artificially played well as long as our lineman were pressuring the QB but any time they gave him a second or two our DBs were exposed. No surprises there.

Title: Re: Armando Salguero Article This Morning Post by: suck for luck on October 01, 2012, 09:39:21 am Not understanding your problem with the article. He pointed out the good stuff and talked about a possible bright future. It sounds like he's frustrated as hell about pissing away wins just like a large number of fans are.

Don't waste your time reading his trash. Ben Volin of Palm Beach Post or Barry Jackson of the Herald are better choices. His blog isn't worth the e-paper its written on.

The only other job he could do is maybe washing cars. Have a feeling he is the product of affirmative action, although the Herald isn't known for professional journalism. Jeff Darlington was the best they had, and he got a job with the NFL even though Armando was much more experienced. What does that tell ya??? |
