Title: Fins @ Bengals
Post by: Fins4ever on October 02, 2012, 11:25:33 am
I was looking at the match-up and have posted the Cincy stats below. The Bengals are 3-1 and have not lost since opening day against the Ravens. They have beat the Skins, Jags & Browns.

It will be another tough game for our Fins, esp. considering they just came from a 6 hour flight to Zona and now will go to Cincy. Stat wise, there is nothing special about the Bengals, but they are solid and Dalton has been better than most people expected.

Thoughts? Predictions?

4.5 point spread. I see the biggest problem for Miami being one of the same problems they had against Arizona- no one can cover good receivers. AJ Green is having a better year than Fitz, so Miami better figure out how to disrupt that because Dalton is much better than Kold, IMO. -EK

Cincinnati scares me less than Arizona did.  The Jags, Browns, and Redskins aren't exactly powerhouse teams.  I think the Dolphins can win this one, if Sean Smith can cover AJ Green.  Outside of him, they don't have much to write home about.  I'm not very scared of their defense.

This is the Dolphins' game for the taking.

Miami's secondary is going to be a sore spot all year. With the strength the Fins have against the run, why would any opponent not go in throwing? I just hope we can keep the D line together long enough for the CB's and Safeties to catch up.

Is this a very winable game?  YES  Will they win it? I hope so, otherwise this will turn into a long season.  Not that I'm expecting the Fins to reach the playoffs, but they gotta win every couple weeks.

Arizona has a better D than Cincy, but Cincy has a better O than Arizona.  Miami should be in the game again come the 4th quarter. Let's see if they can put one of these winnable games away.

Like someone already mentioned. The game will come down to if Miami can stop the pass and not give up the big play...esp. on 3rd down. I suspect Cincy will abandon the run early.

IMO we've always had trouble covering TE's,Jermaine Gresham will probably have a career day against us...

I feel we have an advantage playing the Bengals we didn't against the Cardinals...Kevin Coyle our Defensive Coordinator, was on the Bengals defensive staff for the past 10 years....

I have hope we can win this game...It's been awhile...

Well, I think they will find another amazing way to blow it like they have the past two weeks.

This is a team that SHOULD be alone in first place in the AFC East, but because they have blown it, they are in last.

Miami's problem this week might be dead legs. Fly from Miami across the country to Arizona. Back across the country to Miami. Then fly out to Cincy. Back-End of a bad 2 game road trip could make this tough match-up even tough.

If Cincy just throws it like 80% of the time Miami might be in for a long day.

The element of "travel fatigue" is often overlooked, but I agree with you. Traveling from Miami to AZ. is a 6 plus hour flight AND a 3 hour time difference (we are behind EST) AND thin air and low humidity.

I know these guys are young and in great shape, but it still takes it's toll. Kudos to JP for going to AZ. a day early to acclimate.

I have no idea what to expect in this game because I know virtually nothing about the Bengals.  I hate that I have become such a responsible adult that I don't devote the amount of time that I used to when it comes to "knowing everything" about all sports teams.  LOL   However, I will say that I have been pleasantly surprised so far this year with how the Dolphins have played overall.  Although he is making rookie mistakes, I really like how Tanny doesn't have that John Beck "deer in the headlights, in over his head" look when he is on the field.  I didn't have very high expectations of Tanny when he was drafted but so far he has actaully surpassed my expectations.  Although their record is about what I thought it would be at this stage (I think my prediction here was 5-11 or something), I'm pleased with what I have seen from a lot of individuals and play calling.  Sorry for digressing from the main point of the thread.

Hopefully our DC will have inside scoops on their O as well as the D.

Miami is gonna have to run the ball and try and keep the Bengals offense (passing attack specifically) on the sidelines. That is the key to the entire game. Bush and the ground attack.

Cincy's defense has been bad at times this year so its possible.  Carpenter might have to make a big kick or two this week as well, it's a big game for him. Can't have 3 games in a row with key misses. Then, throw the salary cap ramifications out the window and you must seriously start thinking about replacements.

Redskins aren't power house. Last week during the dolphins game they said washington was leading the NFL in scoring points.Averaging 33 points a game.
Suck for luck huh??????? I see us winning this week. But I am a fan and always root Dolphins.  Go Phins...................
