Title: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: Fins4ever on October 09, 2012, 12:13:50 pm Mike O brought up that Kevin Faulk is retiring and how he was a thorn for the Fins. It got me thinking just how many thorns we have had to endure. Here are just a couple...
1. Thurman Thomas. That guy was a Dolphin killer 2. Andre Reed. Same era as Thurman 3. Wayne Chrebet. Fins were never able to stop him. 3rd and 15, WC picks up 1st. It was a great day in Miami when this guy retired. 4. Marcus Allen. Mid to late 70's, Allen killed Miami. I could go on all day, but those are the top ones for me. Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on October 09, 2012, 12:31:08 pm I propose Wes Welker.
I know as a Pats fan, nothing bothers me more than Richard Seymor making a big play against NE, or Adam V kicking a game winning FG for the Colts against NE. Likewise nothing is quite as enjoyable as watching Danny Woodhead have a big game against the Jets. Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: Brian Fein on October 09, 2012, 12:35:25 pm Welker hasn't really done much (other than the 98 yard TD last year opening night) to kill the Dolphins repeatedly. Troy Brown, on the other hand, sucks.

Troy Brown, on the other hand, sucks. Agree, Welker has been a non factor. Even his big play was due to a missed tackle. If you want to talk N.E. then we could mention Brady or even Ben Coates. (yeah, the fins could not cover a TE then either). lol Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: Spider-Dan on October 09, 2012, 01:03:56 pm 4. Marcus Allen. Mid to late 70's, Allen killed Miami. Do you mean the Miami Hurricanes?Because Marcus Allen wasn't drafted until 1982. Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: Fins4ever on October 09, 2012, 01:06:35 pm Do you mean the Miami Hurricanes? Because Marcus Allen wasn't drafted until 1982. Oops, my mistake. Thanks for keeping me straight. It seems a lifetime ago. lol I remember it so well because my room mate at the time was a die hard Raider fan. I don't think Miami won a single game against them the entire time we shared a house. lol Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: MikeO on October 09, 2012, 05:02:23 pm Eric Moulds when he was in Buffalo always killed Miami
Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: Landshark on October 09, 2012, 05:04:54 pm Kevin Mawae, former Jets center. The guy was flat out nasty, and every game, he would find a way to neutralize Zach Thomas.
Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: aquaaiea on October 09, 2012, 06:32:31 pm I think the biggest thorn is the mirror. They shoot themselves in the foot time and time again! Almost like watching a horror movie cause when it's the 4th qtr and we have the lead the boogie man comes jumps out and scores a last minute touchdown. I finally see a turn in our fortunes for the first time in years and I'm very happy!

Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: Fins4ever on October 10, 2012, 10:16:00 am Eric Moulds when he was in Buffalo always killed Miami GOOD ONE! Who was the WR on the Pats that killed us and then finished his career in Miami? Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: CF DolFan on October 10, 2012, 10:20:14 am You can trace lots of anguish from the Bills directly to Jim Kelly. Being a former Hurricane made it even worse. I hated to hate him but I certainly did!! I think his number is the only Bills to be retired but I'm sure someone will look that up.

Below is the roster for their 1st of 4 consecutive SB appearances in 1990. How about... Steve Tasker, Bruce Smith & Darryl Tailey? http://www.footballdb.com/teams/nfl/buffalo-bills/roster/1990 Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: Phishfan on October 10, 2012, 11:14:11 am Fred Taylor. That guy use to run all over Miami.

Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: Dave Gray on October 10, 2012, 12:21:07 pm Tony Gonzalez. We ran a cover 2 in our years with Madison and Surtain. Even when we had a good defense, we had a softness across the middle, where Gonzalez would kill us for multiple TDs. ...even when the Chiefs were bad, they still had our number.

He hasn't been a Wayne Cherbet, or Andre Reed but he has been a Wesley Walker. Title: Re: Biggest Thorns For Fins Post by: MikeO on October 11, 2012, 06:47:59 am Laverus Coles the JETS WR used to kill us as well
