Ever since it's gotten worse and worse. My motto, say what you want and watch the whining pussies come out of the wood work. They'll scan every word you say to them just to find something to whine and argue about. Kinda fun watching them get all worked up, lol..... Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: CF DolFan on October 09, 2012, 02:23:49 pm Just being an American is offensive these days and sadly, that's not a joke. :-\

Whoever came up with the term "politically correct" needs a good ass kicking! Probably another life time politician trying not to offend anyone, rather than taking a stand in what they believe in. Remind you of anybody? LOL Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: bsmooth on October 09, 2012, 03:41:18 pm Whoever came up with the term "politically correct" is a big pussy and needs a good ass kicking! Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: Brian Fein on October 10, 2012, 09:47:53 am ^^ Politically correct is changing the definition of "what's right"
Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: Landshark on October 10, 2012, 11:08:09 am ^^ Politically correct is changing the definition of "what's right" I agree there. I saw on the news that spanking a child is illegal in one state now. Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: Dave Gray on October 10, 2012, 11:10:20 am I agree there. I saw on the news that spanking a child is illegal in one state now. I'm highly suspicious of this statement. Can you provide a link? Perhaps you're mistaking "school spanking" or something related??? Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: Landshark on October 10, 2012, 11:24:53 am I'm highly suspicious of this statement. Here you go. http://www.thenewamerican.com/culture/family/item/13005-delaware-law-bans-parents-from-spanking-their-kids Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: Fins4ever on October 10, 2012, 11:31:12 am Don't know if it is illegal, but I thought they stopped spanking YEARS AGO. The schools our son attended in FL. never spanked kids.
You know, I have been trying to think when all this started to get crazy and the best I can figure is things started going south when McDonald was sued for over a mil for hot coffee. Ever read some warning notices these days? Crazy. I remember reading about a guy who sued Winnebago for not telling him that once he put the camper on cruise control that he still had to steer the vehicle. Apparently, he set the CC and got up to go make a sandwich. Of course the vehicle went off the road and crashed. THEY WALK AMONG US. Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: Phishfan on October 10, 2012, 11:32:43 am I would dare say this law will be amended. The goal as stated is not to outlaw spanking but as it is written anything causing "Pain" is against the law. I expect to see the courts step in or for their legislature to voluntarily amend it.
Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: Dave Gray on October 10, 2012, 12:00:18 pm Here you go. http://www.thenewamerican.com/culture/family/item/13005-delaware-law-bans-parents-from-spanking-their-kids Thanks. Interesting. I've never even heard of this. I was researching a little bit and I can't seem to find a straight source of what the bill really is for. Everything I'm finding (including the link you sent) seem to be scare tactics of "what the bill could mean". Perhaps it's a bigger deal, but it appears to be an attempt to cut down on child abuse, but that may spill over into harsh parenting, given how its interpreted. I can't seem to find a straight story on what it is, though. I can't seem to find a straight story on what it is, though. No problem, Dave. Bottom line is this: These "politically correct" laws have taken away a parent's ability to discipline their children. As a result, you have a generation of kids that is being raised with no respect for authority. The USA is becoming the latest episode of "idiots gone wild".
Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: Dave Gray on October 10, 2012, 01:29:03 pm ^ Actually, the soda ban in NYC is pushed by a Republican.
Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: badger6 on October 10, 2012, 01:36:03 pm ^ Actually, the soda ban in NYC is pushed by a Republican. Actually, I was referring to the school lunch thing. I was reading so quickly that I missed the soda ban part. And thanks, I didn't know that the soda ban was by a Republican. I still think that it's ridiculous. But having said that, I think we all know that the libs are the ones that want more government and regulations intruding into our lives. Alas, too bad we can't test drive Ron Paul for a couple years instead of these two idiot clowns we have on the ballot.... Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: Brian Fein on October 10, 2012, 01:46:50 pm I think Hoodie posted in another thread that in NYC they are looking to ban large sodas And no refills. Alas, too bad we can't test drive Ron Paul for a couple years instead of these two idiot clowns we have on the ballot.... Funny thing you mentioned that the liberals are trying to intrude in our lives and playing a modern day Robin Hood. A colleague of mine who teaches college statistics e-mailed me these numbers. Here are the ten poorest cities in America with the percentage of residents they have living at or below the poverty level, and the last year they've had a Republican mayor: 1. Detroit , MI- 32.5% 1961 2. Buffalo , NY- 29.9% 1954 3. Cincinnati , OH- 27.8% 1984 4. Cleveland , OH- 27.0% 1989 5. Miami , FL- 26.9% (tied) never 5. St. Louis , MO- 26.9% (tied) 1949 7. El Paso , TX- 26.4% never 8. Milwaukee , WI- 26.2% 1908 9. Philadelphia , PA- 25.1% 1952 10. Newark , NJ- 24.2% 1907 Bottom line is this: These people are voting for the candidate who promises to help the poor and give more to the poor, and they are STILL POOR. Yea we all know it, except for the example already stated, the example of regulating abortion, the example of Romney Care, etc. Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on October 10, 2012, 02:35:25 pm Maybe its OP who suffers for the is easily offendedness. Seems like he finds a bunch of non stories every day on various obscure websites and posted them here to complain about every nit and nat.
Title: Re: U.S.A.: Land of the offended Post by: Fins4ever on October 10, 2012, 05:16:26 pm ^ Actually, the soda ban in NYC is pushed by a Republican. It is being pushed by Mayor Bloomberg, who is currently an Independent but has been a democrat as well as a republican. I think it passed. http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/08/few-know-bloombergs-party-affiliation-poll-finds/ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/13/bloomberg-soda-ban-new-york-board-health-approval-tweets_n_1881270.html |
