Title: Ask BigDaddyFin: Bye that's not really a bye midseason edition. Post by: BigDaddyFin on November 16, 2012, 12:58:58 am Haven't done one yet this year.
Topics must be Dolphin related. Answers begin Friday night after me and Mrs. Fin get home from the bar. Title: Re: Ask BigDaddyFin: Bye that's not really a bye midseason edition. Post by: mecadonzilla on November 16, 2012, 01:50:38 am In August, I thought it would be a miracle if this team finished with more than 6 wins. After 10 games, I haven't moved an inch off that position.
There's just not enough talent here to win games. At this point, if anything, I'm trying to fathom how we won 4 games so far. Title: Re: Ask BigDaddyFin: Bye that's not really a bye midseason edition. Post by: jimmythefinger on November 16, 2012, 08:13:10 am Hopes for this Season ended when Dolphins dumped Brandon Marshall for a six pack (wasn't even cold) and then did not even try to replace him, compounded by dumping Clyde Gates, only WR with speed to supply legitimate deep threat. Last couple weeks the lack of separation the Fins receivers generate has never been more apparent. Against Buffalo on many plays the Defense had 9-10 guys within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage.
New coaching staff obviously does not have necessary Football IQ to ever amount to much. They have one weapon and that's Reggie Bush, yet they do not seem to know how to use him. He only caught 2 passes. You'd think these guys would at least look at some film Reggie in New Orleans. Loved those shots last night of Bush trotting off the field on 3rd Downs. Anytime Miami puts Daniel Thomas in instead of Bush they are basically saying: "we don't want to possibly score a touchdown on this play." They take Bush out, put in Daniel Thomas and throw Thomas a Screen Pass. This is not a smart football brain at work. Play calling terrible. 2nd and 10, calling a running play is just stupid, stupid stupid With Ireland at GM and these Coaches on the sideline I think 8-8, maybe 9-7 best Miami can ever hope for. Post by: Landshark on November 16, 2012, 08:17:24 am I know Marcus Thigpen is listed as a running back, but I'd love to see the Fins try him at receiver.

If you could have one former Dolphin player in his prime come and play for this team, who would it be? Title: Re: Ask BigDaddyFin: Bye that's not really a bye midseason edition. Post by: miamid45 on November 16, 2012, 06:28:15 pm Marino without a doubt!
Love Tanny, but let's face it...with Marino in his prime on this team, we are probably 8-2 and a legitimate contender. Title: Re: Ask BigDaddyFin: Bye that's not really a bye midseason edition. Marino would get killed with this offensive line and would not put up numbers like he did with this receiver corps Title: Re: Ask BigDaddyFin: Bye that's not really a bye midseason edition. I did get to sort of see Marino in his prime, so for me the answer would be Manny Fernandez. I wore his number (although I had a Howie Long hair cut), When I first started playing they made me a nose tackle, and also like Manny I am batshit blind and spent most of my 20s with a similar mustache. Also like Manny while I have a foreign last name I don't speak a word of my native language. Title: Re: Ask BigDaddyFin: Bye that's not really a bye midseason edition. May I suggest Paul Warfield instead of Danny M. Tannehill could do more with a HOF WR, than a HOF QB could do with your current crop of receivers. Title: Re: Ask BigDaddyFin: Bye that's not really a bye midseason edition. Post by: BigDaddyFin on November 18, 2012, 01:44:41 am I don't think I'm gonna do another one of these. It was a total dud and everybody pissed all over it with their nonsensical crap.

I'd ask you to continue these. I personally, like this thread and would have deleted the "nonsensical crap" had I caught it earlier.I still will, if you want to continue. Your call, BigDaddy. Title: Re: Ask BigDaddyFin: Bye that's not really a bye midseason edition. Post by: mecadonzilla on November 18, 2012, 07:59:22 pm I blame myself for the start of the nonsensical crap. It's what I get for getting liquored up during the Dolphin game and thinking this thread was a continuation of another thread. ::)

Title: Re: Ask BigDaddyFin: Bye that's not really a bye midseason edition. Post by: Brian Fein on November 19, 2012, 04:10:36 pm My question(s) -
Outside of WR, what do you see as the 2 highest needs for the team to address this offseason? What rookies do you have a target on coming out this draft? Post by: BigDaddyFin on November 20, 2012, 11:11:30 am My question(s) - Outside of WR, what do you see as the 2 highest needs for the team to address this offseason? What rookies do you have a target on coming out this draft? Defensive back and either kicker or Guard. I'm sorry but what we have in the secondary isn't cutting it, no matter what the sportswriters say. I haven't been pleased with our guard play since probably we had Kevin Donnalley. But if I were GM, I'd try to stockpile as many picks as I could now, and make a list of just WR's and DB's by round and keep drafting them. Some guys will say we should upgrade at TE which will by extension upgrade the WR crew and really the only team I've seen enough of there is Tyler Eifert at ND. A lot of times kickers aren't drafted so you don't really have to worry about a pick there. So you got WR, DB and then I'd maybe try to get another Guard. I can live with Incognito, Jerry's been around too long to be as inconsistant as he is and I still say he's too heavy. Which game, remaining on the schedule for the Dolphins, is a lock for the Fins to win?? Probably Buffalo. I still think we can surprise the shit out of some people and finish 8-8. It's important that we win games in November and December. I think we got ahead of ourselves with this playoff talk early in the year, and I think lack of a deep threat has Tanny checking down too often which could absolutely ruin him. Buffalo likes to throw in the towel at the end of the year when they finally are forced to admit they're not going to the playoffs again and had no business in the discussion. |
