Title: Coaches on the hot seat Post by: Fins4ever on November 27, 2012, 12:31:27 pm We could see as many as 8 HC coaches fired this year. Here is my thoughts.
Rex Ryan: He tops my list. The jets are a disaster and getting worse. I predict an entire rebuild starting with the GM on down. Norv Turner: His time is up. Jason Garrett: I have JG at 50/50, but if you can't beat the G-Men or Skins, you won't last long in Big D. Romeo Crommel: Looks like the Chiefs will have the first pick....with a new HC. Andy Reid: I am not entirely sold on his termination considering his past success, but Vick could be the death of him just like Sanchez is to RR. In fairness, injuries have killed the Eagles this year. Raiders HC: Don't even know his name, but we will find out how patient Al Davis Jr. is. Mike Mularkey / Rod Riveria: Both probably longshots, but the Panthers have regressed and the Jags are well, the Jags. Maybe Henne will save MM. Title: Re: Coaches on the hot seat Post by: EKnight on November 27, 2012, 12:37:39 pm I agree with your list, with the exception of Reid. They looked better last night WITHOUT Vick and McCoy than I've seen them look all year. Not sure you can hang all of their woes on injuries. -EK
Title: Re: Coaches on the hot seat Post by: Dave Gray on November 27, 2012, 12:50:40 pm I think that Reid is gone. Even if it's unfair, that team needs a new direction. Reid is tied to Vick. He's gone.

I'd like to add Buffalo's Chan Gailey and Arizona's Ken Wisenhunt to the list. Both of those teams are grossly underachieving and have no quarterback. I'd like to add Buffalo's Chan Gailey and Arizona's Ken Wisenhunt to the list. Both of those teams are grossly underachieving and have no quarterback. Thanks Shark. I recall reading that Ralph Wilson knew going in that it could take several years for Gailey to turn things around and regretfully he would not live long enough to see it. I think Chan is safe. I don't agree, but that means nothing. lol Interesting on Wisenhunt. I live in AZ. and am flooded with Cardinal news. Always wanted the Fins to push for Aquian Boldin when they gave Fitz that big contract. Ken is well respected and usually puts up a good D. His downfall has been on the O. IMO, his job security depends on how much influence he had on paying Kolb all those bucks. It also depends on how much he had to say about the recent drafts, which have not helped much, esp. on the O line. Hard to say, we could see things stay the same or a change of the HC AND GM. If you think our drafts have been bad, go look at theirs. lol Title: Re: Coaches on the hot seat Post by: Landshark on November 27, 2012, 03:30:16 pm IMO, his job security depends on how much influence he had on paying Kolb all those bucks. By the same token of reasoning, you'd think Chan Gailey's job security depends on how much influence he had in giving Ryan Fitzpatrick a Tom Brady-esque contract. Absolutley. It seems Fitzpatrick broke his throwing hand signing that big check. lol Still, unless Raph has changed his mind, he is determined to stick with Chan until his own death (rumor is Ralph is in very poor condition). With the exception of Newton, they are all in need of an elite QB. OK, I suppose a case could be made for Rivers and maybe even Palmer if you really want to stretch things. Cassell has gotten worse, Henne is a ? mark, but I would not bet on him, Romo is not consistent, Philly is playing a late pick rookie while replacing a less than elite Vick and the Cards are on their 3rd QB as the other 2 are injured due to a poor O line and Sanchez is a joke. I feel terrible for Larry and he is such a stand up guy it is hard to watch.
Title: Re: Coaches on the hot seat Post by: masterfins on November 27, 2012, 07:29:06 pm I think Andy Reid has just had a tough year with his son dying. With so much hype for them to be a SB contender, and playing so poorly, I think he's "lost" the locker room. Players don't seem to be giving their all. He will be successful at a new location.
Title: Re: Coaches on the hot seat Post by: bsfins on November 27, 2012, 09:28:55 pm Holmgren's not a coach he's a team president,(It was my point in the "Whose fate is sealed" comment,if we fire Ireland, I can see us bringing in Holmgren.)
Chiefs fans here seem to want Pioli gone too.. I think,Jason Garrett should be on the list.....Especially if Jerry Jones thinks he can get Sean Payton.(There's already fire Jason Garrett (dot) com. Jason is 2nd on the list. I don't see Payton leaving N.O. They love him, esp. Brees. I don't see Holmgrem being an upgrade over Ireland. What has he done while at Cleveland? However, I do like him as a coach and as a person and there is speculation he could return to coaching. I will always remember Mike as being the HC who tired of Farves BS retirement routine and put in Aaron Rodgers and told Farve to hit the road. PRICELESS! LOL Who am I thinking of? It was not Mike M., maybe Sherman? Title: Re: Coaches on the hot seat Post by: Landshark on December 03, 2012, 05:25:52 pm After watching Detroit's meltdown yesterday, I'm adding Jim Schwartz to this list. This Lions team seems to wilt in the fourth quarter.
Title: Re: Coaches on the hot seat Post by: Brian Fein on December 03, 2012, 05:35:24 pm I'm surprised Andy Reid hasn't been fired already. The Eagles fans don't know how good they have it. They may be underperforming this year, but Reid is a very good coach.
As for the Cardinals, how can that O-line get 2 QB's murdered and still walk out there on Sunday? They are a turnstile. Every opponent gets 8-10 sacks every game. Title: Re: Coaches on the hot seat Post by: el diablo on December 03, 2012, 08:03:04 pm How is Andy Reid still employed? How do u fire 2 assistants, in season, and still keep your job?

How is Jeff Ireland still employed? Title: Re: Coaches on the hot seat Post by: Landshark on December 22, 2012, 03:56:11 pm There are now eight days left in the regular season. Amazingly, not a single head coach has been fired at this point. Previously, you would always see one or two teams getting rid of their coaches and plugging in an interim. Not the case this year.
With the Lions on a six game losing streak, me adding Jim Schwartz to the list is gaining steam. Title: Re: Coaches on the hot seat Post by: Sunstroke on December 22, 2012, 05:18:31 pm Every seat Jim Harbaugh sits in becomes a hot seat...he just generates that many BTU's |
