I have only once rooted for the Jets in my life and that is because the Pats need the Jets to win (or tie) for NE to advance to the Playoffs.

Yes it is wrong to ever root for any improvement in the Jets. What you should hope is for McElroy to play just well enough for Jets fans to think he is better but for them to be stuck in the same purgatory they are in now. Who do you start? 1) The franchise QB with the big contract? 2) The fan favorite golden boy with the noodle arm? 3) The guy that can actually throw the ball but is a nobody?
