Title: The Lakers woes
Post by: Landshark on December 13, 2012, 11:03:32 pm
I'm beginning to think that the Magic got the better end of the Dwight Howard deal.

You're not the only one. Its just hilarious that the media and Laker fans are still wondering when will D'Antoni be fired? Its almost getting to the point where you ask, "Who's worse? Laker fans or Yankee fans?"

The Lakers are playing D'Antoni style defense, which means they might guard the opponent sometimes

Basketball is the sport where teamwork matters the most. If the pieces don't fit, then it won't work. I can't write them off just yet because Nash hasn't played and D'Antoni's offense doesn't work without a point guard.

Basketball is a team sport, unless Kobe B. Bryant doesn't believe in his teammates. Nash might be able to change that when he returns. Then again, Kobe might feel resentment for Nash getting credit for turning things around. And resort back to the Kobe you're seeing now.

The Lakers, unfortunately, will be fine.  They'll slide in at #5 or 6 in the West and, once they can focus on one opponent, will give somebody hell.

I still like the Thunder, Spurs and (maybe) Clippers over them, but the Lakers will be fearsome come playoff time.

Or not.  What the hell do I know?

Basketball is a team sport and you can't have 2 Alpha Males on the same team. If they are loaded with talent you can fake it for a bit, but sometimes it just goes very bad like it is now for Howard and Bryant.

The Heat didn't become this good until they made Lebron just a little more important than Wade.....and Rose hurt his knee and wasn't able to crush Miami in the playoffs. There, I said it.

if i remember right a fully healthy Rose and a #1 seed bulls team weren't able to even take the heat to a 6th game

how about you beat a team more than 1 time in a 7 game series before we get into all this "crushing" talk

That's such revisionist history.  When they first got together, the HEAT got to the finals and went to 6 games.  They were a great team in their very first year.  It just took slight tweaking to make them the best.
