Title: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Landshark on January 14, 2013, 10:09:21 pm We are down to the final four teams. Got the top two seeds in the NFC squaring off in the early game, and a rematch of last year's AFC title game in the late matchup.
Niners at Falcons- A rookie quarterback has never started in a Super Bowl. There is a good reason for that. Nothing will prepare a rookie for the amped up football that is played at this point in the season. However, Colin Kaepernick is no ordinary rookie. The man is a freak of nature. After witnessing him dismantle the Green Bay defense almost single handedly, I have no doubts he will be able to do the same against an Atlanta defense that is a little banged up. Atlanta had a lot of trouble moving the ball against Seattle's defense in the second half. They will have even more trouble against San Fran's. Kapernick will set history being the first rookie quarterback to start in a Super Bowl. Predicition- Niners Ravens at Patriots- Last year, the Ravens were a blown call on a touchdown pass and a missed field goal away from knocking off the Patriots on their own turf. Joe Flacco's play has actually improved ever since Cam Cameron was relieved of his duties as offensive coordinator. And the Ravens defense is as stifling as ever. They shut down Peyton Manning for a sizeable part of the game. They may have a little more trouble with Tom Brady, but I can easily see Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense keeping pace. Look for a Harbaugh brothers Super Bowl. Prediction- Ravens Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Sunstroke on January 14, 2013, 11:15:43 pm We are down to the final four teams. Got the top two seeds in the NFC squaring off in the early game, and a rematch of last year's AFC title game in the late matchup. Niners at Falcons- ...Kapernick will set history being the first rookie quarterback to start in a Super Bowl. No chance of that happening, as Colin Kaepernick isn't a rookie... 49ers over Falcons, 46-23 Falcons aren't a defensive juggernaut...Kaepernick will roll. Patriots over Ravens, 38-34 Belichick/Brady conquer part 1 of the Harbaugh Gauntlet...and send Ray-Ray into retirement. Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Landshark on January 15, 2013, 06:40:29 am No chance of that happening, as Colin Kaepernick isn't a rookie... Technically not as this is his second year in the league. But he sat all last season, so some pundits would label this as his "rookie season" Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Fau Teixeira on January 15, 2013, 08:40:32 am Technically not as this is his second year in the league. as much as I want to see the Pats sent packing I am not sure the Ravens can do it. Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: CF DolFan on January 15, 2013, 10:50:50 am Harbaugh vs Harbaugh/Lewis if the NFL has anything to do with it. Unfortunately I see Brady bored by the fourth quarter against Baltimore which leads to a San Fran / New England match up.
Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on January 15, 2013, 11:25:36 am Technically not as this is his second year in the league. But he sat all last season, so some pundits would label this as his "rookie season" In that case he wouldn't be the first QB to do so. Tom Brady sat his first season and in his second season won a superbowl. Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on January 15, 2013, 11:28:02 am My prediction is NE and 49rs.
Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Landshark on January 15, 2013, 11:57:50 am In that case he wouldn't be the first QB to do so. Tom Brady sat his first season and in his second season won a superbowl. You're right. My bad. Another similarity is that both quarterbacks got their chance due to an injury to the team's starter. Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Sunstroke on January 15, 2013, 12:46:11 pm Would someone please pick the Falcons...you're making me a little twitchy. ;) Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Cathal on January 15, 2013, 01:05:37 pm Would someone please pick the Falcons...you're making me a little twitchy. ;) I'll pick the Falcons and Ravens as the two teams who won't go to the Superbowl. Does that help? :) Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: bsfins on January 15, 2013, 01:14:31 pm According to my TDMMC ESPN Playoff challenge team, I'm boom or bust with New England/ 49ers Superbowl, pulling for the 49ers to win it all....
Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: el diablo on January 15, 2013, 07:13:24 pm January of 1998 was the last time that both home teams lost on Championship Sunday. Lets see if it happens this Sunday.
Ravens avenge last year's heartbreak. 49ers finally put an end to the "Falcons are for real" talk. Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: srt8 on January 15, 2013, 07:28:03 pm Pats/49ers in SB

Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Brian Fein on January 17, 2013, 01:21:12 pm ^^ This seems like the right pick, but I really REALLY want to see the battle of the birds.
I am rooting for the Falcons more than any other team. Sorry, Stroke. Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: SportsChick on January 18, 2013, 06:12:03 pm Pats v. 49ers.
Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: phinphan on January 20, 2013, 01:17:19 am I think it will be pats v 49ers but I hope it will be ravens 49ers with the niners taking the trophy home.
Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Sunstroke on January 20, 2013, 10:34:28 am LET'S GO NINERS!! Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: TonyB0D on January 20, 2013, 11:05:21 am no one can stop the pats this year, i hate them so much.
pats/9ers pats win Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Sunstroke on January 20, 2013, 11:57:37 am no one can stop the pats this year, i hate them so much. Niners have already stopped them once this season...on the Patsies' home field. If both are fortunate enough to have a rematch in the SB, the 49ers will once again pop a Kaep in New England's ass. ;) Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: TonyB0D on January 20, 2013, 12:41:36 pm yeah, but the playoffs are different....no one adjusts/gameplans better than bellicheck. a *rookie* QB will crumble against his gameplan. plus, the pats D always just seems to come together during the playoffs, except when they're playing the g-men lol.

Now let's march down the field and make it a game. Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Landshark on January 20, 2013, 04:10:28 pm And the Niners defense finally did something they haven't done all game. They got off the field without giving up a score. If Kaepernick can lead another touchdown drive, what started as a blowout will suddenly be anyone's game.
Edited to add: Damn Stroke, you beat me to it. You should come on my boat one day Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Landshark on January 20, 2013, 04:16:09 pm Big big personal foul penalty
Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Sunstroke on January 20, 2013, 04:20:32 pm Pop another Kaep in Atlanta's ass...and gave them a stout case of VD (Vernon Davis) in the process. Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: MikeO on January 20, 2013, 06:18:47 pm Thank god Mike Nolan isn't in Miami anymore. He was brutal today.
Wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta fires him. He was that bad!!! That was the worst called defensive game I have seen in a long time. Handed a 17-0 lead at home and I don't know what game Nolan was watching or calling. Harbaugh ate his lunch today! Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Landshark on January 20, 2013, 07:29:57 pm Ravens on the move
Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Landshark on January 20, 2013, 07:31:09 pm Touchdown Ravens!!!!! 7-3 lead!!!

His unit SHUT OUT the Falcons in the second half. If the Niners were the Dolphins, he gets my Game Ball Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: MikeO on January 20, 2013, 07:44:39 pm I'm giving more credit to Niners defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. His unit SHUT OUT the Falcons in the second half. If the Niners were the Dolphins, he gets my Game Ball I don't care what the Niners defense did, Atlanta had a 17-0 lead at home. They couldn't have stopped a Pee Wee team today let alone SF. The Falcons defense was beyond bad. Hell Nolan was spotted a 17 pt lead and he failed....big time! No excuse for that. No positive way to spin it. Nolan sucked! Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: MikeO on January 20, 2013, 07:49:35 pm The action carried on outside the stadium as well. Title: Re: Playoff Predictions- Championship Weekend Post by: Sunstroke on January 20, 2013, 09:06:22 pm Either Baltimore or New England will make for a tough battle against SF in the Super Bowl... ...wait a sec... HOLY SHIT, WE'RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!! ...OK, just had to get that out of my system. If New England comes back, my preseason SB pick will come to pass. If Baltimore hangs on, then my Gridiron Playoff Challenge entry will likely jump up the standings in a couple of weeks, as I sold out entirely on a Niners-Ravens SB there.
