Title: Watching, geting draft results,Who's draft overage are you watching?
Post by: bsfins on April 23, 2013, 11:33:20 am
I saw a SI article (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/-nfl-draft/news/20130422/espn-nfl-network-nfl-draft-plans/?sct=hp_t12_a6&eref=sihp) talking about who's hosting the draft on ESPN and NFL network..

Who are you watching? Maybe you're not,you will get the draft through facebook,Twitter or somewhere else...

I'm not an ESPN fan at all,Sorry Tony...I'll watch NFL network, and find out through Twitter exploding. It's the first year of the draft on twitter for me...

I'll be watching the live coverage, all days...and then the recap shows on NFLN each night.

I love the NFL Draft...it is the very best in reality TV.

I'll be going to a bar...probably Bru's Room, where I can watch the draft (presumably on ESPN) and the HEAT game.

I will have to follow on Twitter.....Since they fucked a lot of us out west by moving the drafts best round to a time when most of us aren't home from work yet. I used to love getting up early on a Saturday and meeting with the football crew at the local watering hole to watch the festivities....now the NFL can bite my ass when it comes to the draft.

I'll get it off the internet or NFL network.  I really hate the fuck out of ESPN

I was at the Panthers game so I DVR'ed it on ESPN and avoided Twitter.  Watched the entire first round in about an hour.

I've been watching the NFL network. Loving every minute of it.

I am an NFL Network guy. Like Mayock the best out of any of the analysts. I DVR both though and after Miami picks I go back and listen to what ESPN said about our pick. But NFL NETWORK is the way to go

With the draft over, I'll pull my standard "open letter" out of the mothballs once again...

*** An Open Letter to all NFL Rookies ***

Congratulations! By merit of your physical abilities and practiced application of game skills, you have been granted the ultimate job...to play the game of football for a ridiculous salary in front of millions of adoring fans.

You lucky dogs!

Now that you've been drafted, this fan would like to give you his two cents on how to set yourself up to have a highly successful NFL career:

1)  Sign your contract right now...no matter what your agent tells you, the little bit of extra coin you get for being a stubborn and greedy ass is more than offset by the fact that your coaches, teammates and fan base now think of you as a stubborn and greedy ass. Get your lucky butt into camp, grab a playbook and start learning how to earn your paycheck.

2)  Get to the training room early, stay there late. Nothing impresses a head coach quite as much as a player who is always in there when they arrive in the morning. Almost every time a coach is interviewed about a star player, you hear him talking with respect about how that guy is "always there when I get there at 5 AM." You want to be THAT guy.

3)  No matter how strong you may think you are, start working now on getting stronger. The pump-and-flex you did at good ol' Tuscawallahatchee Community College won't cut it in The League, young fella. Hit the weights, and then hit them harder. When you finish...hit 'em again.

4)  No matter how fast you may think you are, start working now on getting faster.  95% of you are going to feel like you're in slow motion the first few weeks of camp. This is the NFL and that's just how it is. Get a good speed coach between camps and learn how to fly.

5)  Be humble.  Until your TD total exceeds your uniform number, you shouldn't be celebrating anything on the field. By the time you get to that point, you'll have long since learned that your job is the scoring of the touchdown. Our job, as fans, is the celebration part.

6)  Never take your fans for granted. Never forget, it's our ticket and merchandising dollars that bought that Mercedes for you...so don't piss us off.

Sincerely,
