Title: Crabtree possibly tears Achilles Post by: Sunstroke on May 22, 2013, 02:50:56 pm Doesn't look good...he got carted off the field in OTAs yesterday. Everyone seems pretty sure that it's a torn achilles, and that he'll be out most, if not all, of the 2013 season. Hard to absorb that kind of loss, but I am even happier now that we added two quality targets in the draft (WR Quinton Patton, TE Vance McDonald). They will need to step it up this year. Even with Crabdiva out, I still think the 49ers have some excellent targets for Kaepernick to sling fastballs at: Anquan Boldin Vernon Davis Mario Manningham (if healthy) Quinton Patton Vance McDonald Kyle Williams A.J. Jenkins Still, you hate to lose a talented piece of your offense before the first snap of the season. Hopefully SF has enough talent everywhere else to still contend for the title. Title: Re: Crabtree possibly tears Achilles Post by: MikeO on May 22, 2013, 04:14:04 pm SF is so close to a title I would leave no stone un-turned and see if they can trade for a WR to take his spot.
Title: Re: Crabtree possibly tears Achilles Post by: Sunstroke on May 22, 2013, 05:44:51 pm ^^^ I have no doubt that Baalke is scouring all possibilities. One good thing to note is that Harbaugh has been very positive about two of our young "untapped" WRs, Ricardo Lockette and last year's first rounder, AJ Jenkins. Jenkins has supposedly added a good bit of muscle this offseason, which should help his biggest problem...his inability to get off the line of scrimmage against press coverage. I'm optimistic that the 49ers will still have an extremely explosive offense. As I've always said, offensive success starts on the line, and no O-line in the league is better than SF's. GO NINERS!! I know he is a headcase but if ya put up with Randy Moss for a year putting up with Holmes coming off an injury is probably a walk in the park

Unlike Moss, he knows what it's like to win a Super Bowl Title: Re: Crabtree possibly tears Achilles Post by: Brian Fein on May 23, 2013, 01:09:55 pm Holmes might be a better option.
