Title: Stores/franchises that aren't in your area, but you wish they were?
Post by: bsfins on July 11, 2013, 11:54:38 am
What stores,or franchises (restaurants, services, etc) that aren't available in your area, that you wish they were?

My take-
I live in Walmart's backyard,so other stores tend to be limited...I have 3 Sams Clubs here in town,so a Costco would be cool.

We have a Menards in Lake of the Ozarks, and they keep being rumored to try to build one here in town, but plans keep falling through...

Maybe a publix,or a whole foods...

Modified to add,More Companies that are Internet providers...

Less and less, because I've changed my diet....
I'd like to have a White castle,or a Dunkin donuts.

I'd like a comic book store in our area.  We used to have one, but they opened right at the economic collapse, so they really had no chance.  I have to drive like 40 minutes to the one I like now.

Sonic and In and Out
Is it just me or is In and Out the most overrated burger place in the country?

The have a very limited menu.

Their fries are the worst that I have tasted.

Despite their name, they are the slowest of any of the fast food restaraunt's that I've been to.

The food is overpriced.

I just don't understand it. People have to beg me to go there. I would rather go to anyplace then them. At least McDonald's has good fries. Perhaps it's just the ones in Texas because I'm pretty sure that they would have gone out of business by now if they started the chain here.

I wish there were a Culvers (http://www.culvers.com/) near us. They blow In and Out out of the water.

It might just be you.....I think in the last 10 years you are the 4th person I have ever seen that said they didn't like it. Those joints are always packed....I have been to them in 3 different states with the same results....packed at all times.

Hardees, damn I miss them.

We recently started getting Wawa around here. They were making a big buzz at first but I have started hearing people say they aren't as great as they were made out to be initially.

I really miss Whataburger...so delish.  I think the closest one to New England is in Louisiana.

The reason Wawa's is great is that you can get really good sammiches 24 hours a day.  Touchscreen ordering of a fully customizable sammich....no human interaction required when you're drunk/stoned outta your gourd at 4am.  You can even order them straight from the screens at the gas pumps.  Their coffee is also AWESOME....one of the best hazlenuts around.

Penn Station
White Castle
Cheeseburgers In Paradise
Jungle Jim's (closed years ago, still miss them)
Festival (grocery store chain I see in WI, deli contains a hot bar & salad bar that they charge by the pound. Don't ever go in there hungry).
Jack in the Box ( although not as good as they used to be)
And I would like a Whataburger, Checkers, Five Guys, & Jersey Mike's closer than 45 min away.

Ahhh...I forgot about Whataburger. That was our go to 2 am place for burgers in Dallas after a rough night out.

^^^ I know I lived in Raleigh for awhile.  There's a lot of stuff down there we either don't have in NY or used to have and is now gone.
