Title: Winners and losers from the HOU game. Post by: Pappy13 on August 18, 2013, 09:03:06 am Winners:
Tannehill - Zero turnovers and threw some nice passes. Also managed to escape pressure a couple times. He's ready for the season. Wallace - Well maybe now the media will relax for like 10 mins? C'mon already, let the guy have a chance to show. Thomas - Thought he looked good running the ball and no fumbles. Maybe this is the year? Odrick - This is kind of a makeup call as he really didn't do anything special in this game, but I thought he's been really good all pre-season and deserved a shout out. Wake - Kinda the same thing for Wake, he's just been quietly going about his business, but he's one of the best at the position. Losers: Keller - Not because of his play. Feel so bad for him. Davis - Thought he got picked on a little bit, but he's a rookie and it is Houston, they've got some nice receivers. He'll be fine, but got his welcome to the NFL a little bit this game. Probably a good thing as I see him getting better with a little adversity. Really like this kid. Samuda - Thought I would never say this, but Jerry cannot come back soon enough for me. Backup LB's - Still cannot cover TE's to save their life. I think starting LB's are a little better and pressure up front will help in that regard. I think we will be better at this over last year, but still have a ways to go. Title: Re: Winners and losers from the HOU game. Post by: Landshark on August 18, 2013, 10:35:41 pm The Good:
Ryan Tannehill- Has a QB rating of over 100 in the last two preseason games. Looked very poised and sharp. Mike Wallace- We finally got to see why we gave this guy big bucks. He's unstopabble with the after burners on. Daniel Thomas- Four carries, 25 yards, no fumbles. Looks like he's finally realizing his potential Brent Grimes- Nice diving pick to snuff out Houston's first drive. Again, proved he's worthy of big bucks The Bad: Will Davis- Got smoked a few times, including once for a 38 yard TD and was confused as to whether or not to enter a game on an extra point try, resulting in a penalty. Can't let those things happen, rook. Michael Egner- Only one catch, a holding penalty that negated a nice run by Lamar Miller, and blocking was sub par. Matt Moore- Constantly harassed and was only 3 for 11 The Ugly: Josh Samuda- Was abused by Antonio Smith. Gave up a key sack. Jimmy Wilson- Two personal foul penalties in as many games. Unacceptable. Will Yeatman- Gave up two sacks Dustin Keller- Not because of his play, but the hit that caused his knee injury was as gruesome as any I've seen. And I've seen a lot.
