Title: Goodbye, Brian Jennings
Post by: Sunstroke on September 03, 2013, 11:53:15 am

On Saturday, my beloved 49ers released the last player remaining from the Bill Walsh era, long snapper Brian Jennings. I know it's a fringe position, but Jennings did it as well as anyone. He played 13 seasons, 208 straight games without an injury, and finished his 49ers career with zero botched, missed or errant snaps. Not a single one. As far as long snappers go, Jennings was, in a word, perfect.

Long snappers never get much love, but I'm sure going to miss this one.

Odd that he only got two pro-bowls and no all-pro awards, if he had zero botched snaps for that long.
