Title: Not next year... this year. Post by: Spider-Dan on September 09, 2013, 12:01:20 am The AFC East plays the AFC North and NFC South this year. The 8 teams comprising those divisions played 6 inter-divisional games (I'm excluding ATL@NO because the result of that game in the standings was going to be 1W+1L either way). Here are the results:
- BAL got blown out at DEN - PIT lost badly at home against TEN - CLE lost badly at home against MIA - CIN had a close loss at CHI - CAR scored one time in a home loss against SEA - TB had a close road loss against arguably the worst team in the league, NYJ For most teams, there is a combination of things that need to happen in order to result in a big improvement in record; one of these things is a fortunate schedule. Both of the divisions MIA is scheduled to play looked outright bad this week, and the rest of the AFCE didn't look all that impressive, either. The time to make a run is now. Not 3 years from now, not next year... now. Title: Re: Not next year... this year. Post by: Pappy13 on September 09, 2013, 12:10:20 am /agreed

Title: Re: Not next year... this year. Post by: MikeO on September 09, 2013, 07:01:56 am Can't overreact to Week 1 results. It's just 1 game!! Baltimore is still a good team. Carolina is a solid (not great team). Cincinnati is still a top AFC Team. Just because these teams lost or didn't look great doesn't mean they now became easier games when Miami plays them in a month or so.

I agree with the idea that because these teams aren't really that good, the stretch of games should be easier. I expect us to be fairly good in these games if the pass rush keeps up. Because our front seven is nightmare good Title: Re: Not next year... this year. Post by: Spider-Dan on September 09, 2013, 11:48:56 am Can't overreact to Week 1 results. It's just 1 game!! I'm not saying all of those teams are garbage or that MIA should win every game.I'm saying that all those games are winnable. MIA's running game was atrocious and they still looked better than most of those teams. Title: Re: Not next year... this year. Next up are the Colts...in my humble opinion...overrated. Average D at best, with an excellent passing game -versus- our above average defence and a good passing game. Colts last year had the worst rated o-line. Also, the NFL QB in 2012 who was hit the most....Luck. Miami's d-line could take over this game next Sunday Title: Re: Not next year... this year. Post by: Brian on September 09, 2013, 01:13:22 pm We just got to do a better job of getting off the feild on third down against the Colts this time. Last year we'd do a good job stopping them on first and second down and then Luck would kill us on third.
