Title: Sunday School Sports Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 10, 2013, 12:20:07 pm Another example of Christian hypocrisy.
When I was in High School we had games and practices 6 days a week, Monday thru Saturday. Games and practices were prohibited by state law for Sunday. Likewise there were no town/little league, etc on Sunday. The local JCC did have league that played on Sunday, but they were exempt from the law. I know that the same local high school I attended does not have practices or games on Sunday. I do NOT know if that is by state law or a decision made at the town level. The town does now have Sunday games/practices at the little league level. But coaches can not mandate the players show up if they say they are missing for religious reasons. When the change occurred to include Sunday games, the fiercest opposition game from the local Catholic Church. Now get this: The local Catholic High School Girls Varsity Soccer team holds practice on Sunday mornings. So the public high schools can't/don't hold practices on Sunday so not to interfere with Christian worship, but the Catholic school does. Give me a fucking break.
