I'm surprised. But then again this is Vegas money. So they know what they talkin bout.
We just beat a playoff team on the road... after a fairly dominant first win... Gotta mean something.

I like how we match up.

Right now they have a lot of injuries to key people.

Atlanta overcame injuries to five starters in the first half: Jackson, linebacker Sean Weatherspoon (foot), defensive end Kroy Biermann (right ankle), fullback Bradie Ewing (shoulder) and cornerback Asante Samuel (thigh). None returned.

If they have to play down five starters then that's certainly an advantage for us.

Surprised...but I wouldn't want to play Miami right now.  We're 2-0 on the road, playing with house money.  It's our home opener and we have nothing to lose.

In 2010 we opened up 2-0 with both wins on the road, went home to face the Jets and Pats and the wheels fell off. Lost both, had to fire the Special Teams coach and it was a train-wreck from then on.  Even if we do lose the next 2 (which is possible) I don't think the wheels will totally fall off like it did in 2010.

I like Miami's chances because I thought the threat of Luck running really caused Miami to alter their pass rush to stay in their lanes and gave Luck more time to find guys open. Ryan isn't nearly that nimble and if Jackson can't go their run game might not be that stout. If the pass rush can get to Ryan consistently, Atlanta can be beat.

The past decade or so has conditioned me to NEVER feel good about a Miami win, even while up by 35 with 2 minutes left. That being said, I think going 1-1 over the next two is a good possibility and everyone should be happy about that. The first 5 games are absolutely brutal and to go 3-2, or God willing 4-1 would be amazing.

I think this week's game has better odds at a win than at New Orleans due to the injuries and "homefield advantage". By that, I mean the heat because our fans aren't loud.

Miami catches a break, Steven Jackson out 2-4 weeks.

I picked Cleveland in week one and Miami beat 'em.
I picked Indy in week two and Miami beat 'em.

I'm picking Atlanta this week...no need to mess with a good thing. ;)

Paul Soliai most likely OUT this week and could be longer

That does suck if he is out multiple games.  Soliai is great against the run, but who dies ATL have without Jackson?  Might be bennificial to have the 'speed package' against ATL with no run game.

If we're -1 at home that means Atlanta is actually still got an edge on us in terms of Vegas odds.  The rule of thumb I was always told about was home teams are automatically considered at -3 then they factor in the actual odds that the home team will win.  Not sure how much of it is true but the few times I hit the sports books that's what i kind of see.

Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling are capable backs.  Don't assume they will have no run game.  The Dolphins haven't seen a speed back like Rodgers so they could give them fits outside the tackles.

Soliai and Paterson are OUT.  Rookies Davis and Taylor will play for Miami though

Soliai is backed up by Randy Starks, so that's not a huge loss. Patterson though? Not the best time to be out against the Falcons pass offense. I hope the rookies can show us something.
