It was obvious that they had been coached to avoid penalties. And to Philbin's credit, no penalties yesterday, plus a demeanor of calmness the whole time -- he acts like we deserve to be there, which I like. I suspected that Jordan's issue might've been this, and I'm OK with it. ...not the end result, but I'd rather have a guy trying to avoid penalties than a guy who is overly aggressive and getting personal fouls that extend drives. He is also a rookie and there is a learning curve.

The ONLY explanation is what he said - he thought the ball was gone. I have been searching for the reply to see if that's plausible, because I remember the ball being in the hand that Dion was closest to when Luck pulled it down.
Learning curve, yes, but in that situation, you gotta make that play. |
