Title: London is calling Post by: MikeO on October 09, 2013, 12:08:58 am Announced today that next year 3 games will be played in London in 2014. Atlanta, Oakland, and Jacksonville all are giving up 1 home game. It's also noted that all 3 teams that gave up games are in fights with their cities over stadium deals. They are trying to stick it to their city.

It is agreed thet want to give the Falcons a new stadium so the team doesn't move or explore moving. They are fighting over WHERE to build the new stadium though. Which has a lot of people in Atlanta/Georgia at each others throats and has a lot of it tied up. Title: Re: London is calling Post by: Phishfan on October 09, 2013, 06:32:09 pm No, they have agreed on the site now.

Get the union jack on some helmets, the Jags may be moving sooner than once thought Title: Re: London is calling Post by: Dolphin-UK on November 24, 2013, 09:53:24 am http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/nfl-eyes-london-s-olympic-stadium-for-franchise-possibly-jags-112113 Get the union jack on some helmets, the Jags may be moving sooner than once thought Doomed to failure for so many reasons. The NFL just do not have as much of a handle on their UK fanbase as they think. Just because we flock to Wembley in our droves doesn't mean a UK franchise will work. I think it would work for the first couple years, but then the team would need to win consistently to keep the attendance up Title: Re: London is calling Post by: Dolphin-UK on November 24, 2013, 10:22:06 am I think it would work for the first couple years, but then the team would need to win consistently to keep the attendance up People might go to watch the match but most uk nfl fans already have a team they support and we don't tend to change teams so the issue will be in terms of gaining any sort of supporter base. They'll forever be playing away games at home and unless the team is very successful quickly won't attract as many new fans. Apparently London is more important than the West Coast. Title: Re: London is calling Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on December 04, 2013, 03:14:27 pm 6:30 AM Pacific time. Apparently London is more important than the West Coast. How many Lions and Falcons fans are there on the west coast? Unlikely he it would even be shown in any west coast markets if it was at 1 pm. In total this will increase the number of eyeballs watching ads. Plenty of east coasters that would not have watched the game, will watch 4 instead of 3 games on Sunday. |
