Title: Summing up the officiating
Post by: dolphins4life on October 27, 2013, 04:12:44 pm
1) Horrible pass interference call gives the Patriots three points in the first half
2) No catch ruling killed the Dolphins drive and cost them at least three points
3) Horrible holding call gives the Patriots three points in the second
4) Horrible call on the bat gives the Patriots a touchdown

None of those things directly gave the Patriots points.  They may have extended drives and, sure they were awful, terrible calls.  When they all go the same way and benefit the same team, it sure looks suspicious.  But the Patriots still had to work to get the points and the Dolphins still could have stopped them and overcome the bad calls.

I am wondering if these weren't some make-up calls for last week's Jets game debacle.  Now, there, you can say the refs COST THE PATRIOTS the game, but at least it was the right call.  That penalty DIRECTLY led to points.

Gronk's bogus PI call led directly to points.  It was a punting situation, but instead they got the spot of the foul and put them in FG range.

It would've been going into the half 14-0 with us driving to add new points.  Instead, it was 14-3.  That's a big difference.
