Title: MIA-CIN
Post by: stealth3ltt on October 31, 2013, 08:40:16 pm
Let's go fins.      Once again turnstyle offensive line for the first series.    That wasn't tanny's fault.     Hopefully they can do better on this drive

Predictable.

Happy Halloween!!

So far a dull start to this game.

More kicking woes :(

This could be the fourth week in a row we lose because of kicking

Title: Re: MIA-CIN
Post by: stealth3ltt on October 31, 2013, 08:58:46 pm
Here we go giving up 3rd and long all the time.

Title: Re: MIA-CIN
Post by: EDGECRUSHER on October 31, 2013, 09:02:14 pm
I didn't see the kick, but Sturgis is an excellent kicker, so he is obviously going through a mental block phase. He needs a therapist more than a coach at this point.

Title: Re: MIA-CIN
Post by: Tenshot13 on October 31, 2013, 09:07:49 pm
Question is do we stick with a rookie kicker who is having a slump, but has shown potential, or find a new kicker. I choose the former.

I love that play action.   Hope they do more of it

Nothing surprises me anymore with this team.  Stupid plays

Title: Re: MIA-CIN
Post by: EDGECRUSHER on October 31, 2013, 09:16:51 pm
I cave in and turn the game on for one goddamn play and am reminded why I gave up hope in the first place.

Listen, I am already preparing for the draft, but that was a hell of a run and an even better strip of the ball. Almost no RB is holding onto the ball after that shot. Just gotta tip your hat.

That's the way I feel too, but people like to question every player on the team so I figured I'd entertain them.

Title: Re: MIA-CIN

Are they gonna pass at all

Title: Re: MIA-CIN

Title: Re: MIA-CIN
Post by: hordman on October 31, 2013, 09:27:10 pm
Running the ball very well so far, very encouraging.  Hope to see them do this all nite to CIN.  CIN will quit after awhile if they run like this thru the 2nd half.

Title: Re: MIA-CIN
Post by: MikeO on October 31, 2013, 09:27:16 pm
Are they gonna pass at all

We have over 100 yards rushing in the first half, until they prove they can stop it no need to pass

Title: Re: MIA-CIN
Post by: stealth3ltt on October 31, 2013, 09:28:14 pm
This team is such a different when the offensive line does a good job.   Look at the pass from tanny. Steps up into the pocket and hits Wallace in stride.   It shows that he can be a good qb as long as he not on his ass all of the time.

Title: Re: MIA-CIN

Title: Re: MIA-CIN

Very nice drive to come back after the fumble.  Run the ball down their freakin throat!

Title: Re: MIA-CIN

We have 130 yards rushing in the first half. Now watch Sherman go 5 WR sets the entire 2nd half and throw it every play  ::)

Title: Re: MIA-CIN

Let's go defense.

I'm not watching the b game but is Clabo playing? I saw a deep pass to Wallace on the app due to play action but I didn't think our line could hold their blocks that long.

Happy that the running game and defense are playing well.
Pissed that this game could easily be 20-3

Here we are again, dominating the first half and about to begin the 2nd half. The Bengals are an excellent defensive team and WILL make adjustments. Will we keep running until it doesn't work? Will our O-Line become swiss cheese again? Will Mike Wallace drop more passes?

Tune in Dolphin Fans! Same Dolphin Time! Same Dolphin Channel! Same Empty Dolphin Stadium Because Miami Sports Fans Are Terrible!

The greatest way to keep Geno Atkins off your quarterback is to knock him out of the game.  Word is he will not return tonight.

I'm not going to blame the refs because they did take away a Bengal TD earlier in the half.  That was a bad call but you can't play defense like that

I ask this question to those who know more about football than me: Is this constant 2nd half choking and coming up short on big plays on the coaches or the players? I lean more towards the coaches for not adjusting, but I am not 100% sold on that if someone else has a convincing argument.

every situation is unique. Last week it was the coaches and horrible play calling. This week it was the players not making plays. Defense on 3rd down specifically

Before anything even happens, let me say how much I hate the NFL's OT rules and how ridiculous they are for a professional sports league. Only league where you have a distinct advantage by guessing Heads or Tails. Asinine.

In OT, Wallace showed why he was picked up (Tannehill still overthrew him).
Grimes did a great job (even though he got embarrassed with the rest of the team on that Bernard TD).
Good to see Sturgis make a clutch FG.  Hopefully that will get his confidence up.

Daniel Thomas is the most useless player on the team.  And the existence of Tyson Clabo makes that a statement.
The entire second half, I would shout out "first man misses!" on every CIN offensive play.  I think I was right 90% of the time.

MIA got hosed on the Hartline PI non-call (and the Hartline offensive PI call), but MIA also got a gift on the Ellerbe INT (that was an easy helmet-to-helmet call).  I call it a wash.

This is our problem right here!    Mike Sherman is not the OC for this team... he is a bad play caller and clueless at times.  He almost went away from the run again in the 2nd half and ran Thomas on runs that should have used Miller.  That 3rd and inches is a good example... you don't use Thomas on a Power O!   That should have been Miller where with his speed he could have bounced it!

I don't know if Thomas is the most useless man, Wheeler is running neck and neck with Clabo.  But in Clabo's defense, he's old man, 32 by NFL standards playing line and he's getting beat.

Wheeler is just awful.  Look at any tape or future games.  The guy just does not make plays.  I saw him "whiff" on many a play last nite OR falling to the ground after chasing a player.  It's a fact and the news needs to call him out on it, but no one will.

Ellerbe on the other hand, has been a great pick-up.  He plays the MLB great, sees the play and goes for it.

The win was very nice, and I'm glad I was wrong with my prediction (reverse psychology!)  Too bad that those BUF and BAL losses were not wins, it would be nice to be 6-2.

Oh well, see if they can build momentum from this and rip off some wins.

Go Phins!

^^ With Wake back and playing full time I think we will see more of the defense we saw in the first couple games. Lots of pressure on the QB, more INT's, and such. He makes others around him better. Yes, including Wheeler.

I mean 3rd down defense must improve but I think they will fix that in coming games. Cincy has lots of weapons they are a tough team to stop. Other teams won't be able to do that on 3rd down as consistently as they did.

I'm not sure. I think most of the games this year have had quite a few 3rd and long conversions on this defense, both runs and passing. This defense will shut someone down and have them in a 4th and 13 situation and totally fuck the play up and give up the first down. It seems to be a recurring theme. Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but I seem to remember plenty of situations.

You are not exaggerating anything the defense has been giving up 3rd and long all year.

I sure as heck wish we'd hear jordons name once in a while. 8 games in and pick number three if the draft barely sees the field.

He isn't getting sacks but he brings pressure and has forced some early throws. Plus he was a blanket on the Pats TE's last week.  I know that doesn't show up in the stat sheet and you want more, but he did suffer through camp with his injury and was a bit behind on stuff. I'm not worried about him. I think an offseason program in an NFL weight room and this kid will be a monster. The 2nd half of that Ravens game showed this kid is gonna be "BIG TIME".....he was in on Flacco on almost every pass and caused chaos...not to mention he was the reason for a defensive touchdown.
