Post by: MikeO on November 12, 2013, 12:29:28 am they aren't going to the playoffs. The o-line isn't good enough. Whether they won vs TB or not they weren't going to make the playoffs. The O-line might play well some weeks (ie vs Cincy) but they can't put together back to back games where they play well. This team will win 7 or 8 games and miss the playoffs.

You can't prepare your squad into being more talented. Now of you want to say Philbin and Ireland should go because they assembled the team, that's fine and I agree but using the "they had XXX days to prepare" thinking is flawed, IMO. -EK

The time factor matters when you start the way they did last night. The time factor matters when you fail to make adjustments. Tampa flew across the country, after blowing a lead. Yet, they looked more prepared. They used a back up QB & 2nd/3rd string RB to put up 20 pts. Miami has talent. They lack direction.

McKinnie isn't going to be around after this year probably, no matter how well he plays. Gardner is a backup for a reason. Pouncey is our best lineman and he's very good when he's not punching someone in the face. John Jerry is 360 pounds of wasted space and teams are able to time the snap because of him. He also couldn't pick up a blitz to save his ass. Tyson Clabo gets beaten like a mule at the worst possible times. Both sacks last night, like the Buffalo game came off the right side. You can't run screen passes with guys who can't block. This is my biggest bitch with Mike Sherman. Also none of this matters if you can't stop the run. We shelled out a mind-blowing amount of money to Soliai and Starks to keep them in Miami, and a 4th team running back ran all over us up the middle, on the same play run at least 12 times, that every high school team in the country runs on a regular basis. YOU HAVE TO FIX THE OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE LINES, or this team will not win another game the rest of the year. This is why I wanted to go offensive line with the first pick. What are you hearing? 1) Coaches don't like how he performs in practice. Which some guys are just bad in practice and it takes time for coaches to realize that. 2) His shoulder isn't 100% and is limiting him some 3) He needs work playing the run so in games like last night where a team is pounding it on the ground he becomes limited. BUT...he played 9 snaps last night. 3 of those snaps he made what is called an "impact play".....1 tackle for loss and 2 QB hurries. So, when he plays he is playing well. The kid needs a full offseason in an NFL weight program and time to get his shoulder 100%. Jordan is gonna be a very good player. Not worried at all about him. He is the least of Miami's problems |
