Title: Sam Brenner - practice squad to first NFL game, what does that mean?
Post by: CF DolFan on November 18, 2013, 10:41:11 am
Sam Brenner was called up to play in his first NFL game. Does anyone know what that does to his salary?

The min salary for a regular player is $25,312.50 /game(week).  For a practice player it is $6000 /game(week).

Sometimes a team will pay a practice squad player more than the min.  I know the Patriots have.

So is it paid by the week or season? I was wondering if this means he makes rookie minimum from hereon  or if he can be dropped again?

Can we get a couple more starts out of him first?  He's no all-pro but he played serviceable under the circumstances.
