I hope this doesn't happen. Personally I'd like to see the whole thing get resolved as soon as possible regardless of the outcome although I do like to see the funny signs that people come up with. 

Report: Dolphins ask to delay Incognito grievance hearing

Members of the Dolphins organization have started meeting with independent investigator Ted Wells as Wells tries to sort out what happened with Richie Incognito, Jonathan Martin and others.

According to a report from Chris Mortensen of ESPN, the Dolphins would like to hold off on Incognito’s grievance hearing until they’re done working with Wells. Mortensen reports that the team has requested a delay of the hearing, which was expedited and is currently scheduled for Thursday.

Incognito was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team, but is reportedly arguing that Martin and his attorney David Cornwell have engaged in the only conduct that’s been detrimental to the Dolphins. Incognito will be represented by his own outside counsel at the hearing, but the NFLPA will also have a presence at the hearing after filing the grievance on Incognito’s behalf.

Unless there’s a ruling that speeds up the timeline, the Dolphins have until December 2 to return Incognito to the active roster or cut him from the team altogether.

just pay him and cut him. No way Miami is getting out of not paying him. Putting off the inevitable

Probably afraid the Jets or Pats would snap him up.  Best thing for the Dolphins is to keep him dangling as long as possible.

who cares at this point. He was playing so bad if they want to pick him up that helps us...lol

With the way the Dolphins have picked and coached players , he'll probably kick ass wherever he goes.   He wad a Pro Bowler last year.

Yeah Richie giving up 6 sacks in8 or 9 games and playing on maybe the worst o-line in the league wasn't part of the problem  ::) 

Who gives a flying crap what he did last year? Seriously he was beyond awful this year. The stats dont lie

Actually I think the Dolphins would like to keep him, but they want all this to be in the past before doing that. That's why they don't want to have this hearing because they don't want to reinstate him unless he's been cleared from any wrongdoing. If that happens, I don't see any reason for them not to bring him back.

And yet he's still better than probably anyone else Miami has. Bringing him back allows Garner to be the flex guy again. If they are gonna have to pay him anyway, what does it hurt?

Reports are coming out that this is not the first time Incognito has made racial slurs.  Apparently he made some to a team staffer and his wife.

Why couldn't the Dolphins just suspension duration 4 weeks? That's the maximum allowed for Conduct Detrimental and the specified reason for Incognito's filing.

Maybe the Dolphin plan is to bring him back after the 4 weeks are up, not use him and then trade him in the off-season. 

Or maybe the plan is to bring him back after the 4 weeks are up and the NFL has done their investigation and found no wrong doing by him and start him again.

Ross doesn't want the guy the same way he didn't want Brandon Marshall and moved on from him. There is zero chance Richie returns to Miami and plays again. This goes beyond talent...its an image and a perception thing at this point

He is a FA after the season. This is the final year of his deal.

Then they could have not suspend him in the first place. 

I think part of his problem was trying to do too much on that side. He's averaged less than 3.5 sacks allowed a year for us and then suddenly can't stop anyone?

The Dolphins request has been denied.  Hearing is set for Thursday

Thank God!! Sooner this process starts, sooner Richie is cut. Sooner this whole thing is over with.

Incognito is the type of guy that would spitefully play like a Pro Bowler if he was released and signed with the Jets or Pats.
