Title: Shame of the Game - Panthers Post by: dolphins4life on November 24, 2013, 05:00:46 pm The offense, for not scoring in the second half

Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Panthers Post by: Cathal on November 24, 2013, 05:19:50 pm All on the offense for not getting even a FG in the second half. No idea which one person to give it to, though.

Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Panthers Post by: MikeO on November 24, 2013, 05:55:47 pm Back to Mike Sherman for some weird playcalling. 4 min to go and we are throwing instead of working the clock
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Panthers Post by: mecadonzilla on November 24, 2013, 06:35:43 pm Tannehill. He had time today and consistently made bad decisions and over/under threw receivers all day. The final play of the game was just crazy stupid on his part. Had he dumped it to the wide open guy standing near the sideline, they would have a first down and be at least 10 yards closer for a hail Mary on the final play. Instead, he runs around, lets time expire, and gets sacked. Pathetic.

I thought the playcalling seemed "Okay" today, just absolutely no playmakers on offense in the second half. Two minute offense time management continues to be horrible. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Panthers Post by: Tenshot13 on November 24, 2013, 07:21:15 pm Actually, I change mine to Philbin for calling that time out when CAR had a 3rd and 2 thinking we'd stop them and get the ball back with time so it wouldn't go into OT. Too bad they got the first down and got a TD instead.

I caught myself saying "What are they doing throwing the ball instead of working the clock" and then realized that with no running game, it still would have been a "3 and out". Even though the passing game dominates the NFL today, having a viable running game is still such a crucial aspect of football and this was a prime example of that. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Panthers Post by: MikeO on November 25, 2013, 11:46:17 am tough to win games with a back-up offensive line. When Jon Jerry is the ONLY guy to start every game on your o-line...you have issues!
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Panthers Post by: dolphins4life on November 25, 2013, 01:02:31 pm And yet they nearly did it, like they nearly have so many times
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Panthers Post by: MikeO on November 25, 2013, 01:59:02 pm And yet they nearly did it, like they nearly have so many times Which goes to show you the team IS going in the right direction and there is no need to blow it up and start over. Even with this garbage back-up o-line.....they still are almost beating good teams (NE, Carolina..etc). Just fix the biggest problem (the o-line) and let's see how this group does. This is what I was talking about the other day. I agree with what you said wholeheartedly so it's surprising when something negative about the Martin thing gets written and you seem to go into "blow this thing" up mode. Normally I'd say you were a glass half full kind of guy ... or at least compared to the norm around here! LOLTitle: Re: Shame of the Game - Panthers Post by: BigDaddyFin on November 25, 2013, 05:48:16 pm Philbin gets it for the team having a ten point lead (again) the only time they came close to scoring any points was on a 50+ yard field goal (again) blowing said lead (again) giving up a touchdown immediately after halftime (again). This is who this team is right now.

If they had a party at a players house and beat up another player...that is a HUGE deal. Don't know if that happened but if the reports are true and it did...sorry that is big news |
