Title: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: dolphins4life on December 02, 2013, 10:09:41 pm Darn, I've never seen the Saints dominated like that since the 2009 first half against Miami.
Oh no, why did I bring that game up? ??? Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: Dave Gray on December 03, 2013, 12:03:38 am Saints suck on the road. This was to be expected.
Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: EKnight on December 03, 2013, 06:54:24 am Saints have more road wins since 2009 than any other team, according to Brees.
Edit to add- who DOESN'T go into Seattle and get crushed? Russell Wilson hasn't lost a home game since he became the starter of that team. I think this spells disaster for Carolina next week, as the Saints will be at home and I just don't see them losing two in a row. -EK Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: MikeO on December 03, 2013, 07:08:05 am Not sure any NFC team can beat Seattle in Seattle. (I think when TB almost beat them there it was a fluke and they overlooked TB)
IF they make the Super Bowl they would probably eat up the Pats defense and destroy them. If they played Denver I am not so sure they could beat the Broncos in a shoot-out on an neutral field. Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: CF DolFan on December 03, 2013, 08:18:28 am Seattle obviously has the best home field advantage at this time. That is a sports hungry town these days!!! I would say New Orleans is a fairly easy second while I think there are many others fighting for third.

They literally are scary. They caused an Earthquake. Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: Sunstroke on December 03, 2013, 12:19:59 pm The 49ers are going to give Russell Wilson his first home loss of his career when we meet them in the playoffs. Go Niners... Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: dolphins4life on December 03, 2013, 12:33:35 pm Do you (all) think that the crowd noise in the Seahawks' stadium gives them an advantage?
Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: MikeO on December 03, 2013, 12:40:37 pm Do you (all) think that the crowd noise in the Seahawks' stadium gives them an advantage? it doesn't hurt them. They are a good team regardless of that Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: dolphins4life on December 03, 2013, 01:00:34 pm Is Russell Wilson the best quarterback in the NFL this season?
Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: MikeO on December 03, 2013, 01:07:23 pm Is Russell Wilson the best quarterback in the NFL this season? God no. He is a good player but not the best in the league this season. He is just surrounded by a great unit. They can run the ball and are able to play to his strengths in the passing game. Put him on another team and his stats are nowhere near what they are currently Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: dolphins4life on December 03, 2013, 01:28:49 pm ^^^^
agreed, so why do people give Peyton Manning so much crap for when his team loses and he plays well? Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: Sunstroke on December 03, 2013, 02:12:48 pm I tried to get people to see the "real" Russell Wilson before the draft... I said this before, a couple of times in other threads...but I think that Wilson will surprise people once he gets into the NFL. Yes, he's short...but he's accurate, extremely smart and athletic enough to give defenses something to think about. If Miami (or SF, for that matter) throw a late round flyer at this guy, I'd be happy. And, MikeO...not to pick on ya here, because you're right enough on other things to absorb being extremely wrong once in a while, but you responded to my praise of Russell Wilson with the following nugget: Pat White 2.0 in my book Sure, in Rd 7 if he is there, take him nothing to lose. Taking him in rounds 4 or 5 and expecting him to do anything, its a wasted pick Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: MikeO on December 03, 2013, 02:41:48 pm yep I was wrong on him
Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: Sunstroke on December 03, 2013, 03:07:36 pm ^^^ You and a ton of experts who get paid a hefty paycheck to predict such things, not to mention most of the GM's in the league. You're in pretty solid company there... ;) Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: EKnight on December 03, 2013, 03:41:20 pm Is Russell Wilson the best quarterback in the NFL this season? I'd say #2 with very little chance to catch Manning. -EK Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: fyo on December 03, 2013, 05:47:36 pm I've not seen many Seahawks games this season, but his advanced stats don't exactly scream "best in NFL". He's 7th in both ESPN's QBR and football Outsiders' DYAR (which adjusts for defenses). Manning, Rivers, Brees, and Rodgers score higher in both metrics.
Is he just better than his advanced numbers? Traditional passer rating loves his touchdown to interception ratio and doesn't care about his 17th in total passing yardage or the opponents, he's faced. Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: MikeO on December 03, 2013, 06:23:19 pm I believe Wilson has fewest passing attempts of all starting QB's in the league at 300 or so attempts through 12 games (take away guys who have missed games for injuries ie Rodgers, Cutler; and guys who didn't start till mid-season ie Foles, Glennon). Kapernick might have a couple less attempts after last nights game, but you get the point. Wilson isn't asked to throw alot.
Seattle coaches are good not to expose him and just have him drop back and throw it 40 times a game because he can't and still have that offense be successful. Wilson is the perfect QB for what they want to do. He is on the perfect team with the perfect coaching staff for his abilities. When Washington fires Mike Shannahan after the season they should copy this Seattle blueprint and hire someone as Head Coach and Offensive coordinator who fits RGIII's abilities and what he does best to get the most out of him. Because if you switch RGIII and Wilson and put them on the opposite teams I believe you would see RGIII being a mega-star and Wilson struggling. Wilson is a very good player but he couldn't have landed in a better spot. Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: Sunstroke on December 08, 2013, 08:22:48 pm Nice to see the 49ers get the win over Seattle today. Wish we could face them on our home field, should it come to it in the playoffs, but that train has already left the station. Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: dolphins4life on December 09, 2013, 12:36:37 am Maybe the Seahawks actually have a legitimate home field advantage
Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: Sunstroke on December 09, 2013, 07:27:52 am ^^^ I think that has pretty much been established at this point. Seattle is brutally tough at home, and the deafening noise that comes from their "12th Man" crowd is a big part of that. Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on December 09, 2013, 10:47:01 am ^^^ I think that has pretty much been established at this point. Yes, but Pittsburgh has brought the concept of a 12th man to a whole new level. Do people have stronger lungs in Seattle? Title: Re: Those Seahawks look scary Post by: Sunstroke on December 09, 2013, 02:48:04 pm ^^^ All stadium acoustics are not created equal... |
