Title: Win 2 and We're In Post by: EDGECRUSHER on December 16, 2013, 07:41:57 pm Thanks to the Bengals loss, if Miami wins their last 2 games, they are in the playoffs. Baltimore has to play Cincy one more time, so if they win out and so does Miami, all 3 teams will be 10-6. Baltimore would win the North and Miami would win the Wild Card based on tiebreakers.
No excuses or scoreboard watching. We win the last two and we travel to Indy, Baltimore or Cincy. Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: raptorsfan29 on December 16, 2013, 08:05:17 pm also if Baltimore beats NE. New England would be 10-5 going into the final game, and if buffalo shocks New England, it would eliminate the patriots from the playoffs. Miami would win the east, Baltimore would win the North and Cinci would get the #6 seed.
Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: Spider-Dan on December 16, 2013, 08:17:18 pm I can think of no more unlikely event in the NFL than Buffalo beating New England in Foxborough.
Seriously, name any other result that you think is less likely than that. Seriously, name any other result that you think is less likely than that. Tony Romo winning the NFC East in Week 17 with a 4th quarter drive. Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: Landshark on December 16, 2013, 09:26:36 pm Tony Romo winning the NFC East in Week 17 with a 4th quarter drive. You hear this Dave and Spider?? Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: Spider-Dan on December 16, 2013, 09:53:49 pm Tony Romo winning the NFC East in Week 17 with a 4th quarter drive. Sorry, I was referring to game results, not ways to get there. Otherwise, I'd categorize "Ronnie Brown throws 8 TDs to beat KC in week 17" as a significantly less likely event. But since you asked: 2007 (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200712090det.htm): Tony Romo has a 4Q comeback to clinch the NFC East (but in week 14, not week 17) 2009 (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201001030dal.htm): Tony Romo clinches the NFC East in week 17 (but DAL wins 24-0) Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: MikeO on December 16, 2013, 09:58:11 pm I think even if the Fins split these last 2 games they are in. I think Baltimore will be lucky to win 2 out of the last 3. I don't see it happening. If they win tonight (currently losing as I type this) then maybe they win 2 out of the last 3....but they better win tonight!
The Jets game at home I don't see the Fins losing. I can't see Geno Smith beating Miami....he is a terrible QB and our defense will eat him up again like we did a couple weeks ago. And the Jets secondary is maybe the worst in football I think our WR's will eat them alive. Not much is gonna change from that last game we played them. The Buffalo game this week is tricky. It's a tough match-up for the Fins. It's gonna be ice cold, they can run the ball while Starks/Soliai have been bad this year. If they can run with enough success and open up play action passes to Woods and Johnson then it might be a tough game for Miami. My point is this: In a high pressure situation I woukd not want Romo behind center Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: EKnight on December 16, 2013, 10:57:24 pm I can think of no more unlikely event in the NFL than Buffalo beating New England in Foxborough. Seriously, name any other result that you think is less likely than that. How about a certain "fraud" team tallying the highest score so far this season in the NFL? You're telling me you would have seen that coming?? -EK Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: dolphins4life on December 16, 2013, 11:40:18 pm It's going to be extremely tough to win two games in a row.
That was a crushing blow the Ravens just dealt the Dolphins Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: MikeO on December 16, 2013, 11:41:33 pm It's going to be extremely tough to win two games in a row. That was a crushing blow the Ravens just dealt the Dolphins not really, it was a crushing blow the Ravens sent the Bengals. Miami controls it's own destiny. Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: dolphins4life on December 16, 2013, 11:43:02 pm I don't see how the Dolphins can beat both the Bills and the Jets.

When was the last time Miami went 5-1 in the division? Plus, they've already won three in a row. Regression to the mean Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: Spider-Dan on December 17, 2013, 01:22:35 am When was the last time Miami went 5-1 in the division? Definitely not this year, since they've already lost two division games.Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: Landshark on December 17, 2013, 06:55:31 am When was the last time Miami went 5-1 in the division? 1990 they went 7-1 Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: habfan5150 on December 17, 2013, 10:42:37 am It's going to be extremely tough to win two games in a row. That was a crushing blow the Ravens just dealt the Dolphins The way I see it if we can't win these 2 games we don't deserve to be in the playoffs. I was hoping at the beginning of the season that we would be at least mathematically alive at this point of the season, and we are ! Fear the fish !!! Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: Downunder Dolphan on December 19, 2013, 07:59:49 am I had a dream the other night - Dolphins in the playoffs, offense on the field, Pouncey & Clay voted to the Pro-Bowl. Don't know the result of the game, or who it was against...
Not sure if this is a good or bad omen. Good dream though. ;D Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: MikeO on December 22, 2013, 08:07:56 am Someone pulled the fire alarm at the team hotel at 3:15 am or so according to reports. Woke the entire team (and hotel up) up for a while. Fire trucks came and it was a big to-do for a little while while things were sorted out. Total false alarm and someone playing a prank. Some players were tweeting they couldn't get back to sleep though.
Title: Re: Win 2 and We're In Post by: JustinGregg on December 22, 2013, 12:43:48 pm I think we win today and next week. Hope our corners hold up though. Playoffs here we come!
