Title: Dolphins in 7th best cap situation for 2014 Post by: fyo on December 22, 2013, 11:54:40 am http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24379050/agents-take-raiders-atop-list-of-10-teams-with-best-2014-salary-cap-situation
With almost $20 million in carry-over cap space, it should be no surprise that the organization is in good shape for next year. There are some important resignings to take care of (Grimes tops the list, IMHO), but still a solid job by Ireland. Title: Re: Dolphins in 7th best cap situation for 2014 Post by: miamid45 on December 22, 2013, 08:18:42 pm DO NOT RESIGN Starks or Solai. Even releasing Wheeler might free up some space....
Biggest move will be at least franchising Grimes. Then working on the OLINE. Biggest move will be at least franchising Grimes. Then working on the OLINE. Releasing Wheeler does the opposite it will kill our cap. He would be in year 2 of a good sized deal. He is going noplace. Starks and Soliai can go to hell for all I care. I don't want to see either in a Fins uniform next year. Buy o-linemen in free agency then draft young cheap DT's Title: Re: Dolphins in 7th best cap situation for 2014 Post by: Heatles on December 22, 2013, 09:06:44 pm Well at least we have a competent GM...oh wait...
Title: Re: Dolphins in 7th best cap situation for 2014 Post by: EKnight on December 24, 2013, 08:25:22 am The issue for Miami is that one of the teams with the most cap space ($40+ million) and something near a dozen draft picks is in their own division and depending on this week, could already be a .500 team to start with. Miami better spend wisely, because their division will get better in the offseason. -EK

They need to spend at the tackle spots. Title: Re: Dolphins in 7th best cap situation for 2014 Post by: MikeO on December 24, 2013, 11:01:37 am Not necessarily. You can manufacture guards.
