Go to a Bills game, get dunked on!

That's going to end badly one day.  If that were me and I've had a few before the game, probably end up knocking the guy out and getting jumped by a dozen Bills fans.

It's going to end real badly if they do it to the wrong person.

It's too bad none of these visiting fans realized what was going on when the guy with the backboard showed up. How perfect would it be to turn, meet the guy halfway through the air and Dikembe Mutombo his ass...

I agree.  One day they will piss of the wrong person doing this.  Then you will see a real backyard brawl.

This seems like a bad idea all around.  I would laugh if it happened to me, but in general, it's not a good idea to make abrupt physical, what some would consider threatening contact to strangers in an already uncomfortable environment.  One day, they will get jacked and I can't say that I'll blame who does it.

Add in the fact that there is video evidence that this is a premeditated attack on the opposing team fan and the DA will have no choice but to charge the guys behind this with assault and the the opposing fan has a nice lawsuit against both the clowns doing this and the Bills team.  (At this point the Bills must have knowledge of what is going on in their parking lot and have not used security to stop it)

Real Sports did a segment on "drinking in NFL parking lots".....focused mainly on the Bills and Redskins. Anyway they talked to some of the cops/security at a Bills game. They pretty much said they would need the entire police force at every home game to keep things under control. The security/cops are just too outnumbered.

^^^ The "we can't control crime" defense will work for a municipality.  (E.g. you can't sue the city of Miami if you get mugged on the basis they should have had more cops in the area.  It won't work for a private entity.  If you are a football team that KNOWS that particular fans are assaulting other fans and don't do anything to stop it,  (And in this case there is a video of them doing it so identifying the parties isn't that hard) then you are open to lawsuits.  You are obligated to provide a safe parking lot, either hire more security and if that is too difficult, cease operations.

I am likely going to be a turd in the punch bowl, but I don't know that tailgating can exist in its current form for much longer.  The agreement is this: Hey, pay $25 to rent a 4x8 space for the next 7 hours where you are encouraged to party.  There is just so much liability.  With hooliganism seemingly on the rise, it's just a matter of time before we start seeing deaths and this stuff is stopped.

My only problem with the video is those guys are still wearing those stupid 1980's pants, that probably came out before they were born.

Agree with in the next decade or so look to all games to have SB type restrictions on tailgating.

I can't see that. More security maybe but that's what most of the people are there for. If you take away tailgating and/or force public transportation to get to games then people will quit going and watch on tv. If you think they are having issues with getting people to playoff games then that would be a catastrophe.

Well maybe not that far.  I don't see them forcing the use of public transportation, nor banning BBQing, but I do expect them to banning drinking in the parking lots.  Outside of football stadiums I can't think of any other "parking lots" you can drink in.  If you were to pop open a beer can and drink it in the mall parking lot while waiting for your wife to shop, you would be arrested.

Would this type of change make games less popular?  Maybe, maybe not.  I know  parents who would love to take there 8-14 year olds to more sporting events, but they aren't all that thrilled with exposing them to the "drunk element"  It certainly would shift the demographics -- more corporate types and families  -- less alcoholics.    If you can't enjoy a sporting event without drinking booze -- you aren't a sports fan you are a fan of booze.

We have events all the time in Florida where we drink in the streets as well as tailgate. They tailgate at sporting events, concerts, tractor pulls, Monster Truck rallies etc. Just as long as it doesn't go through the front gate you are good.

I guess if you are a Bills fan, this is a substitute for a team highlight reel........or they could just show the 2 Dolphins games over.
