Title: Browns fire GM Lombardi, keep Ray Farmer Post by: fyo on February 12, 2014, 04:28:01 am The CEO is out on his ass as well.
Remember when Ray Farmer withdrew from consideration as the Dolphins' next GM? Well, looks like he might have been told a thing a two by Browns owner Haslam. Despite just setting up a new front office staff a year ago, Haslam fired GM Lombardi and CEO Joe Banner. Ray Farmer was promoted to GM and Alex Scheiner named new CEO. Mike Pettine, hired less than 3 weeks ago, stays as head coach. In a somewhat interest twist for all the Dolphins-crap spouted around here, the reporting structure also changed: ALL 3 NOW REPORT DIRECTLY TO HASLAM. The job responsibilities are also similar to what Ross set up for the Dolphins. source: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10435830/cleveland-browns-overhaul-front-office-name-ray-farmer-new-gm Title: Re: Browns fire GM Lombardi, keep Ray Farmer Post by: MikeO on February 13, 2014, 01:50:32 pm Lombardi took a job with the Pats last night/this morning

Once the owner told them he wanted to meet with Schiano Banner and Lombardi told him no. That Schiano isn't any good and it would be a waste of time. The owner fought with them over it, dragged them to interview Schiano. Ended up hiring Pettine, waited and then fired Lombardi and Banner for not wanting to interview Schiano. Essentially they weren't yes men and told the owner what he wanted to hear.

Just when you think Ross is a bumbling buffoon, one of his peers steps up to the plate to show you what a buffoon REALLY looks like. |
