This is why the A's (Oakland version) traded off their best bat for Lester. Kansas City counters with James "I haven't earned the title of Big Game, but I'll take it" Shields. I'm digging these one game "play-in" formats, although I didn't think I would. Who you got tonight? Me? If Oakland can get a couple runs for Lester, I'm going Oakland. That said, I tend to stop watching baseball once the regular (read: Fantasy) season ends. I was rooting for Oakland because I pity Billy Beane at this point and KC's owner can buy the Yankees 10 times over but cries poverty, but I am not really upset. It's good to see some fresh faces show up when the big teams collectively decide to not compete for a season or two with their terrible roster moves. Congrats to KC anyways, hopefully another playoff drought ends next season.
